Caustic Song file (optional):
I found a bug in the subsynth I don't remember was there in earlier versions of Caustic. It's in the filter envelope section. Check out the .caustic file I attached to this post. The filter is set to lowpass at maximum initial frequency and the envelope is set to long decay lowest sustain and long release.
In the pattern I created I first play a short note followed by a long note and what I expect to hear is a brief drop in the filter when the short note is played only to rise again as soon as the key is released. But that doesn't happen, instead the filter keep following the decay curve upon release. Now when the long note plays the same thing happen, the filter follow the decay curve for as long the key is held but there is no rise upon release as expected.
I'm pretty sure the filter envelope was ok before the 3.2 beta testing started so hopefully it's a easy fix.
And while I'm at it I would like to make a small feature request regarding the Subsynth's filters. So, would it be possible to make the keyboard tracking knob bipolar? I mean as it work now I can add more filter to the low end than the high end which is fine most of the time, but sometimes you want more 'grit' in the low end and less in the high end. This feature wouldn't change the UI much, the knob only has to be centred by default and maybe have a dent like the bend knob has. So how i think it should work is... turn the knob CLOCKWICE for positive tracking i.e. more filter in the low end less in the high end. COUNTER CLOCKWICE would give the opposite result.
