Feature Request

Hi, been away from Caustic for a while, got all involved in VSTs but once again frustrated with the host/plugin battle. It's nice to see Caustic is getting some love still :)

I was just bringing a bunch of my samples over to Caustic's sample folder (it's nice to have the option to run on my PC since my tablet's latency is not so great plus having it on a big screen is pretty awesome, virtually unlimited sample storage)... anyway, I came to my drum loops section and realized something... Caustic has a really great list of generators, a loop slicer is probably the only thing it's missing.

So dev if you're ever looking for ideas for your next generator creation, you might consider a slicer. BTW nice touch with adding in the whole merge rack to PCM thing I can't wait to try it out, since I remember I used to like to run padsynth through the modular a lot, will save rack space.

I agree, a slicer would be really handy for vocal samples too, however, there doesn't appear to be a whole lot of Dev work going on right now, and hasn't for some time. Hopefully Rej will come back from his Caustic sabbatical and impress us all...

• If you want to slice you

• If you want to slice you can slice it in the pcm synth wave editor:
- Slice by ear: make your selection and save every slice with ‘save selection’.
- You can also snap the selectors so you can chop on whole beats and bars and save every slice with ‘save selection’.
After this you have to load each slices in psm synth…

• This is faster to do:
You can also import the loop that you want to slice in the pcm synth, load that same loop on multiple keys. Then, set the start and end points for every key (slice) by long pressing ’start’. Set polyphony to 1 so the slices choke eachother..

Yeah, that's how I do it with

Yeah, that's how I do it with the save selection, but it would be nice if you could just set up slice points and it automatically spreads if over the pcm in one hit, but hey, it's not that bad now!

Hey guys thanks for the

Hey guys thanks for the replys, I like the fast method, seems similar to slicing in a tracker except a bit more streamlined once you set it up... I'm going to have to see if the start points are automatable, I can probably think of some other ways to play with that if so hehe while a slicer would be great, I'll settle for this trick

Improvement

I have a iPad Pro and I just bought Caustic not too long ago and I like it a lot. Definitely lagging way behind compare to others DAW. Definitely needs some improvements. Only 14 Tracks maximum come on now what’s up with that. If I would of known that then I wouldn’t of bought it. How about unlimited amounts of tracks or at least more tracks to work with or how about merging tracks together so you can add more tracks to work with and more affects for each synths. If it had all these features I just mention and plus even some more features I would spend more money on this app.
