Apps for ios

Hi everyone,
I notice for Android there are lots of free and purchases available for adding new sounds to Caustic, but not for ipad on ios store? Is this correct?

Maybe that's more difficult for sound designer to offer something thru Apple's system?

The App Store only sells apps

The App Store only sells apps. Additional sounds, samples etc. are usually offered as IAP's within the apps. There are many good presets on this site.  Some users have sites with downloadable sounds etc. Jason had some very good offerings but I don't know that they are accessible now.

The Android packs are fully

The Android packs are fully compatable with the iOS version of Caustic.  If you have an android device (or a friend has one) maybe you can download and transfer to iOS.

Android's file system is open

Android's file system is open, meaning an app can install files in common areas where all apps can access them.

Apple has a closed file system for everything but photos, videos and music. If someone made an iOS app that installed add-on sounds, they wouldn't be accessible to any other app, rendering the whole exercise pointless.

Ok. Thanks. Im sure android apps wont work on ios? Also im not sure how one could transfer android apps/IAP etc onto an ipad?
In Caustic ios there are no IAP available (i checked 2 days ago) so u cannot add new sounds to it. On Play store there are a lot!

Look at Audioshare and

Look at Audioshare and Audiocopy. With Audioshare you can import your own samples from your computer and then import them into Caustic. Theoretically anyway... There's quite a few workarounds you need to sort through that would be very long to explain here, but you'll get used to the process through trial and error. Also there's the FTP function but my brain's not smart enough to figure that one out frown

I mean:-

I mean:-

1/ download the android apps.

2/ Install apps on your android device.

3/ Copy the content from the presets directories over to iOS (using FTP?)

Lots of misinformation here.

Lots of misinformation here. I have posted about how easy it is to get files in and out of Caustic a number of times.

If you have a caustic pack file you simply use the Open In function in iOS and you're done. Not difficult at all. A free Dropbox account is helpful as a way to transfer the files from your Android device to your iOS device.

Transferring samples or finished songs to and from Audioshare is quite simple. Do not use the AudioCopy app for anything. It is buggy. Audioshare on the other hand is easy and is highly recommended for a number of uses. To get a sample from AS to Caustic simply choose the sample in AS and use the Open In function and choose Caustic as the destination.

In Caustc, AS is a destination you can choose when you Export.

Look up some of my other posts regarding using the Documents app by Readdle to access the Caustic file structure through Caustic's built-in FTP server. It works quite well.

I can only get individual

I can only get individual files into audioshare and not folders - its rediculous. So u have to do ea file of eip packs individually. And then, to make matters worse, audioshare says its not a recognised file! Then when i email it to myself and "open in" doesnt give u an option to open in Caustic ios.

You get folders into

You get folders into AudioShare by using zipped folders. Open the zip in AS.

You can "open in" a .caustic file from anywhere in iOS. I keep mine on Dropbox. You can open them from AS. It is just telling you it's not an audio file.

Ok got it. But if u open the zip folder u still have the tedious task of sending ea file individualy instead of the entire folder.

Use the free app Documents by

Use the free app Documents by Readdle. It connects to Caustic via Caustics FTP server and gives you full access to the Caustic folder structure.

Wish someone would make a you

Wish someone would make a you tube video on how to transfer purchased content packs from android to ipad. I've read the threads on here about it, but I can't seem to grasp the process.
I bought an ipad and cubasis 2 to step up my game but I end up jumping right back over to Caustic. It's the coolest mobile DAW out there. Rej, you're the ultimate shit.
