MIDI from electribe 2 doesn't work on Android Caustic 3.2

Hardware: Korg electribe 2 connected to Nexus 6P via USB-C to Micro B cable.

This setup works fine with other synths on Android, for instance the electribe 2 can sequence "OPL3 MIDI" and "DRC". I am also able to control Caustic 3.2 if I replace the electribe 2 with a Novation Launchkey Mini.

But Caustic will not be controlled by the Korg electribe 2. When I plug it in, I get a request asking for my permission to control the USB device, which I grant, but after that, there's simply no reaction from Caustic. No notes will play. There's no reaction if I attempt to learn a CC message. Caustic is set to "MIDI device controls on-screen instrument" and it does not matter which part/channel I use on the electribe.

The electribe 2 is a class compliant device, it does not need additional drivers on OS X or Windows.

Please let me know if I can be of any assistance in getting this bug resolved, being able to sequence Caustic from the electribe would be freaking awesome!

Edit: This is how the electribe 2 presents itself to OS X ("ioreg -p IOUSB -w0 -l"), I hope this helps

I wanted to let you know that

I wanted to let you know that a workaround exists, although it's fairly annoying.

electribe MIDI out -> generic MIDI adapter -> USB hub -> Nexus 6P

I thought maybe the electribe MIDI clock settings had something to do with it, but no. I would prefer a direct connection instead of this chain of hardware but at least I can trigger notes on Caustic now :)
