Nocturnal (House style with melodic piano with some dubstep bass)

Caustic Song file (optional):

This track uses a couple of PCMSynth soundfonts - a piano and some pizzicato strings, with everything else created using Caustic's synths.

There's no vocals (other than an atmospheric background sample), which is unusual for me, but I just couldn't seem to find anything that fitted! I finally got round to using the OrganSynth in this one. It also makes use of the FM Synth to form part of the off-beat bass sound, and the SawSynth for counter melody. 5 Modsynths make up the rest of the bass / growl & noise sounds.

I bounced as many smaller parts down to audio as possible, and used a PCMSynth to trigger the samples, to free up instrument slots, but still this uses all 14 tracks. There's sidechain compression on everything(!) and in fact the only machine without it uses volume automation to achive the same effect (as I'd ran out of FX slots).

I really struggled naming this, but eventually went with 'Noctural' as the ModSynth audio sample which forms the intro & is repeated throughout makes me think of some kind of night creature!

Mastered with Caustic Mastering app. Any comments welcome

This sounds so pro!  Really

This sounds so pro!  Really full of great sounds but it sounds very polished and balanced. I wonder how you got that "Talk Box" effect so I'll look at your caustic file when I get a chance. I enjoyed listening!

Thanks very much JHSound. The

Thanks very much JHSound. The 'talk box' sound is created through a combination of comb filter / bit crusher effects, but yes, feel free to poke around with the Caustic file. Some bits have been exported out as audio samples (the intro sample for e.g.) but they were all originally created using the synths within the track.
