Caustic does Prog II: Mystere (A Nod to Genesis), an original.

This is a nod to Genesis and their sound. "Mystere" is a little journey to me. Certain parts made me feel that I was driving at night in a convertible on an ocean highway lit by a full moon.
The little voice shout belongs to a little beautiful girl from Norway, Ane.
It was made entirely on Caustic for Android, with minimal post processing.

Hyggelig å møte deg, Ane..

Hyggelig å møte deg, Ane.. You are the proof that "Norway's got talent"..

Hello Spy.. I will repeat Andy's words.. "nice to hear an original piece by you".. And what a piece.. Sure, it's truly Genesisian..*

The sound of the lead synth, the portamento and vibrato,  the rhythm, the piano parts, the overall atmosphere, the choir in the background..

(I probably would have liked the choir to be a little bit boosted, over-mixed.. But that might be only me.. You know how much I like choirs and voices..)

Is there any way, on Soundclown, to press the heart twice ??

*(Special message to...... (Well, no need to name him, he will recognize himself..) ; Genesisian is to Genesis what Bushian is to Kate Bush.. eh eh..)

Thank you Thierry!

Throy93: Thank you!

Thank you Thierry!
Probably the most favorite comment. Ever.
You know I am both Genesisian AND Bushian! What!
Yep. I even wrote a song about  Kate Bush, many, many years ago...Now here's a lyric for you: "Her songs, high tempered inspirations, attracted me into her undinal world, she pulled me into her bosom, so strange and blue, I sank into her crystalline whirlpool, a small leaf, of a crying tree, in adventure". Maybe one day I'll put it together in Caustic. Still, the nod to Genesis is everywhere in my music. Mystere is more like Genesis-via Greece-via New York. Thanks again!

Haha - Thierry, I see you..

Haha - Thierry, I see you...lol...

I think it must be an undisputed fact, when Kate Bush came on the scene she pulled a lot of teenage boys into her bossom, I was certainly one of them

I will appear as a non

I will appear as a non-sexualized teenager, which I sure was not, but I must admit that it's not with her bossom that Kate Bush seduced me..

I must even admit that I have not been immediately conscious of the sensuality which flows from her..

I'm a french guy, and I was a french teenager.. As such, I had access to the "visual" of french artists, but not that much, of foreign artists.. I saw Marc Bolan only once on TV, though he was my idol in my early teenage.. Slade was the favorite band of my brother, and I think I only saw them 3 times on TV.. One more time than him..

But that being said, I discovered the great Kate by the radio, right at her beginnings, with Wuthering Heights, and her voice, the harmonies immediately seduced me, even without any visual.. Sure, the cover of Lionheart is very sensual, but this didn't really come to my mind..I was "into" her music and her universe poetic/romantic/so British/so Bronte-sisters/so Beatrix Potter/so The wind in the Willow/so Matthew-Barrie/so Alice in Wonderland.. and the cover was not in this thematic, so I didn't care the cover that much..

Sure, I had understood the meaning of "The more I think about sex, the better it gets .... etc etc", but that seemed to me something normal to be said.. I mean, if a guy would have said that, we would probably not have taken it as scandalous, or at least, "risqué"..

And same for the lyrics of "the kick inside", for me they were talking about love, not sex.. They were telling a romantic story, truly romantic like in the early XIXth..

Sure I had understood too, part of Kashka's lyrics..

For me,; she was a "total" and rich person, which includes dreams, fears, hopes, nostalgia, empathy, madness, life, death, blood, sensitivity, sensuality, sexuality..

Then came "Never for Ever", and this time, I couldn't escape the sexual meaning of the cover.. Especially, knowing that I had read an article talking about all the ancestral fears that males have, about the females vagina.. (Note that Males vagina would have been a non sense..)

And also, I have spent the 1979-1980 Xmas-New Year period in Scotland, and I saw Kate's Xmas special on the TV.. And even this "Wedding List" video, where she's dressed only with a semi transparent early XXth night gown, which means she was even more nude than if she had had no clothes at all, even this didn't catch me that much.. I was more into her red cheeks, her ballerina look, her sitting on the piano (that's during a duet with Peter Gabriel, if I clearly remember ??).. I enjoyed seeing her playing and singing live, with only her piano and voice..

During this time in Scotland, a woman I knew and visited, said a few words meaning that Kate was very sexually attractive, and kidded me (kidding is life) suggesting that it was the reason why I was so much interested by her.. She (the woman) seemed to me totally wrong..

It was years after, watching her videos, that I noticed how sexually/sensually provocative she could be in her look.. I mean, much much more than I had ever been conscious, before.. And sure, I now consider that she is my greatest sex-symbol of all times.. But even then, I know that I'm so much into her universe, that this sensual/sexual aspect is just one side of a much bigger and much more important whole..

Anyway.. I later had a relationship with a woman who was a Kate Bush fan, and, when she was a teenager, was totally seduced by this image of sensuality, and grew up with Kate Bush as a model, a reference..

So I would probably copy paste part of Andy's phrase..   "I think it must be an undisputed fact, when Kate Bush came on the scene she pulled a lot of teenage girls into her bossom", and into her "Sensual World"..

But as usual, I talk too much and too long.. Especially on this thread which is, and should remain, about Spy's interesting new track.. Knowing how rare, but complete, are his tracks..

Have a nice breathing..

Thierry

Well put Thierry! You almost

Well put Thierry! You almost spoke my language except for the sexual thing. For me, the first listen of Wuthering Heights (it was on a random stereo system at a billiard shop), especially when the bass slides into the rhythm in the beginning, totally made me immerse in it and nothing existed around me! The song I wrote was very much influenced by that initial experience! The magical, otherworldly siren who dared to be different. And I loved every bit of it. Never for Ever for Breathing and Night Scented Stock, The Infant Kiss! A true original! That's why when I first got my first kitty I named her Kashka! Yes, I was aware of the original character in her song. I even met her when she was in New York promoting Hounds of Love. One of the brightest moments in my life! And I still love The Dreaming! We're talking about any possible emotion that came out of that lovely banshee! Get Out Of My House! Who has done anything remotely close to that before or since! Thierry, I thoroughly enjoy your comments, please feel free to write as much as it makes you happy, I love all the good and positive energy! And thank you again for being you!
