Still a little premature, needs a bit of work but the idea is there.
Song now edited with more sub freq.
The first minute was amazing.
I don't want to say the rest was awful, because it wasn't!
Funny thing is the entire first minute is done using only two synths - the Beatbox and an Fm synth built in the modular. The baseline and all the squealy shit is done in a single Modsynth with lots of automated button spinning. I think that's why it sounds cohesive, all the sound is coming from a single synth instead of trying to merge a bunch of textures from different synths or samples. I can upload the caustic file of you want to peruse it.
Ooh, yes please
The Modsynth is pretty much the stock "DIRTY FM" patch that comes with the program. I've since done several other mods (stereo, with res filter, or with format filter running in parallel... stuff like that).
Also got some cool sounds using the actual FM Synth as well.
I initially got inspired by reading this thread:
Wouldn't mind reviving it to get some more input.
FWIW, if you lower the Decay in the upper DADSR you can control the "spit" at the beginning of notes. You can get some pretty cool effects by raising the Attack or playing with the lower DADSR which controls overall amplitude.
Well, I'm slooowwwwly getting the hang of this. Here's another short example and the Caustic file. Stole some ideas from a video using Serum. Still not exactly what I want but getting closer and the more I play with the FM synths the more I know how to tweak them to do what I hear in my brain.
I created this by modding what MenaDax posted (Hard Growl.caustic) in this thread:
