Weird, at the beginning of the week I hadn't even heard of Trap music and you're now the 3rd person to mention it.
Look in the Show and Tell forum and Bidzo has posted a track called Trap, the caustic file is there too so you can see what sounds he used.
There's another post in maybe Tips and Tricks talking about it too.
*it's in the General Questions forum below this one *
Oh yeah, beatproduction.net gets props from K.Boog on this forum. They have lots of free sample packs, some specifically for Trap beats, lots for Hip hop.
I came here with the question assuming i must be the first to ask because i didn't think Caustic could do it. The when i went back to the forums all my prayers were answered.
Edit: And thx that helps ALOT.
Thx, bro. Question: I see you answering a question on almost EVERY thread, are you in any way afilliated with the devs?
Hee hee, one thing you'll soon learn, is that we are a tight knit community here, unlike any other, supporting a fine product... We like to help each other with issues and help each other grow in our skils and abilities....
Glitchy and "trappy" sounds are usually sequenced, not nessecarily just samples....
Im working on some new content packs for Caustic 3, that will help you create things like this.... Meanwhile I can recomend some of my Builderz packs, perhaps Extreme, which has its own PocketKit, featuring some cool glitchy type sounds, that if sequenced correctly can create some really cool "trap" type effects....
I just realized that I have some of yours, and I must say their exelent, really. The one you just suggested, Exteme, how much is it? I'm excited to be apart of this community.
And I'm pretty sure the uprising came from Diplo's 1hour mix on 98.7 (if you're in LA) on sunday @ 9:00 PM
Shoot me your email at eipstudiosohio at gmail dot com, and I'll send you a copy, on the house, a welcoming gift ;)
Beat production.net Has alot of trap sounds.. Oops! Thanks for the props James, i didn't know you commented BP.N til i went back up to read everybody's comments after i commented.. Lol. PS. Had to come back and edit my comment, yeah Jblann is right! All depends on the notes you use i just messed around with the beat box, the 32note kicks Ass for trap beats, i thought i had to put the tempo high, don't have to,120 works fine. Thanks Rej for the 32note.. Yeah, just play with the 32n- 16n and 8th note for hi hats and snares.. You'll get that trap feel...
Check yo' mail.... I look forward to hearing it in some tracks...
Naah, I just talk too much
There are soooo many sounds. I was messing around with it for about a whole hour before getting remotely familiar. Thx agn!
What are some good trap artists to check out? I just started following Paul Basic on Sound cloud, is that Trap? His music sounds like glitch to me but has a bunch of triplet hits after the kick drum. Anyway, I would like to explore the genre a bit more and could use some advice.
So "Trap" is an official genre? So dubstep is gonna fade into the background, and "Trap" is the new thing now? Am I that dense to new music styles or something?
Probably a regional thing Jason. Here in San Diego its all about hip hop/top 40 and if you want to hear good edm you have to go to underground parties. Techno (nu skool techno) was popular in the ug scene here for the last few years and now the "burners" (people who attend burning man) have taken over and at those parties I have been to they play glitch/dub step and indian flavor down tempo. I'm out of the scene now so who knows what the "new" thing is. My DJ friends say Trap is the new thing here at the moment. I hope edm gets more main stream like in other countries as it helps the genres grow. To me it seems like the genres are all getting so mixed together its hard to label them.
Yeah, fast tempo and 16ths or normal tempo and 32nds - same result, I guess. Depends on which one works better for you
If you program Drum and Bass I guess you'd start with the fast tempo, if you're coming from Hip hop you'd go slow and use 32nds...
I love genre music but it can get so insular and refined/defined to the point where it's impenetrable to people who aren't familiar with it. This really happened with the UK techno scene in the 2000's. It was sound distilled to rhythm and noise, cool in its own way but ultimately a closed loop where no-one new joined the scene.
These days I listen to bits of everything and love music as much, if not more, than when I was in a kinda purist phase. I definitely enjoy it more which is the key
And...if I don't like I just don't listen to it I actually listen to the radio most of the time so I'm always exposed to new things.
TNGHT, Brillz and ECT!ECT!, Yolonda be cool, Grandtheft, UZ's TRAP SHIT, BAAUER, Yellow Claw, DIPLO, MAJOR LAZER, Carnage.
You can make some nice trap beats with the 808 kit. Add a second kick tuned lower in a spot you don't normally use. That'll add some lower low end
PocketKit Pro Hard 8 kit preset really rocks for something like this as demonstrated in my latest audio demo for the upcoming release....
K thx ;)
hey what up, my caustic 3 for android doesnt have default presets in the synthesizers, how can i get them back?? and how can i add more cool synthesizers and samples??
Hi there and welcome to SCS. This is the wrong forum to ask these kind of questions, but if you go into your file browser and into /caustic, delete the Config file, and the next time you launch Caustic, it should install the demo content for the synths....
Try the EIP drum & bass, or ambient, packs too. Those are diverse enough to not just be used for their pack names.
Please check https://r-loops.com SHOP there are a lot of free TRAP samples (WAV & MIDI Kits), look here: https://r-loops.com/category/sample-packs/free-samples-and-loops
or please try https://slooply.com , there you can download single loops & sounds
I hope this helps you out
