Snake Eyes-Beat Shoes

Snake Eyes has slipped over to the darker sound of the lounge, perhaps the retro lounge, where strange figures dwell...

Any thoughts please share if you will...Ta

Enjoy this a lot!  Actually,

Enjoy this a lot!  Actually, the Doors sound sneaks in with that bass line, too.  I also really like how you doubled up the rhythm at 1:30 and then broke and brought it back.  This is got all the late-60s feel, updated with synth leads (one even slipping into the sitar-like sound).  Very nice.

Cheers mate, appreciate your comments...yeah I pretty much always have an idea at the start of how it's gonna go, but I also like to give it some room to see if it needs to adapt or change in some way, it nearly always does...lol...ta

Sounds great overall... Nice nostalgic organ sound.

After the pause and build up I wished you would have gone with a more traditional drum beat also add some Latin percussion in that section. I think it would have gotten that early classic rock feel.

Yeah, it was always a toss up, either stick with the same beat or change it, but I take your point about the percussion, that would have added that little touch, thanks for the feedback, it's much appreciated

I love how none of your tunes

I love how none of your tunes sound like they were made "on the grid". They almost seem more like live performances. Its a mystery to me how you manage to get this effect from a mobile app with no audio track function. Awesome work. As a side note, I think you would like the resurected album called "BFI" by The Dragons. Your sound reminds me a lot of that album, which is one of my favorites.

I concur. It sounds like a jam session. Very loose and natural, and I know how hard it is to get natural out of midi input. Permission to look smug granted. You've earned it lol

ahh cheers guys, i reckon, its probably to do with having no background in this type of music creation, and i probably dont follow the rules, because I dont know what the rules are, if you get my drift...its all pretty much experimentation...call me dr frankenstein...lol...

I wasn't laughing at you dude

I wasn't laughing at you dude. Just reminded me of that line cos I often find myself trying to follow "the rules" of music creation, and they dont exist. Its like all these courses there are now for music. I understand wanting to learn guitar, or piano, or as I did, sound engineering. There are basics that it's best to follow, but as for hard fast rules? Nah.
It's all well and good to say that Ellie Goulding and Adele went to The Brit School, and I'm sure they learnt a lot about how the industry works, but talent is innate and cant be learnt.
I'm like you, I dont know what the rules are. But did The Beatles? Hendrix? Michael Jackson? Madonna? All of the biggest, longest-lasting names changed the rules dude. If there are rules, I'd rather not know them lol. You have a unique style and it's awesome. And as the saying goes:
"Fashion is something you follow.
Style is something you have."

its cool, mate just sharing a joke...and you're dead right on the mark, marching to the beat of your own drum has always been my modus operandi, more difficult when you are a youngster, but as you gain a more developed understanding of the world it is more satisfying...but its always been music with me, i guess im just lucky to be able to appreciate music, and always get on with people of a similar disposition....oh and just to repeat I have quite a good sense of humor...as I feel you have..now, .just of to a jumble sale with wife & daughter, celebrating fathers day...that will inevitably mean me digging out my wallet...lol...
