Hi team, I realise that midi controllers have been discussed in the past but I'm wondering about how much of an external controllers functionality is likely to work with Caustic (either on Windows or Android)? For example the Arturia Minilab has a keyboard which I'm sure will work and I get the impression that I should be able to assign drum sounds to the drum pads on the Minilab. However the Minilab also has knobs for twiddling, so for example has anyone ever got an external MIDI controller to adjust filters realtime in Caustic?

Yes, my m-audio oxygen v4 works really well with all knob twiddling needs and drum pads

That's great, can give me an idea of how you assign a physical knob to a knob in one of the instruments, e.g. the Subsynth? Could I have remote control to the the LPF for example?
You go to the midi tab, press the cc mappings button and follow your nose, it's so easy it's almost embarrassing.

Great, just a question of choosing a controller then. Hearing great things about the feel of the Arturias but there are a LOT of choices.
i have this exact controller and it is awesome when paired with caustic. here's a video of me tweaking the knobs on subsynth on my phone. i tested it on windows and it works there as well.

That's great to hear and thanks for the video, just waiting for a second hand one to come up now. I would go with the APK Mini but I fancy a go with Analog Lab Lite which comes with the Minilab.
"It's working! It's working!"
Woo! Knob twiddling at last, been waitng for this for 30 years.
Picked up a first gen Minilab and full version of Analog Lab 4 for £45 but it's knob twiddling in the sub synth which is delivering hours of fun. Modular synth patchs less keen allow Minilab to control params though but volume still works.
For the modular synth you should first complete the set-up (all submodules) and save it as a preset. Then open it in the midi mapping screen.
I had problems when the submodules of an existing patch were changed, then MIDI kept the old submodules and the results were strange. (Best is to save under different name, delete old preset, restart caustic; then create the new MIDI mapping from scratch.)
@Carl-alex, thanks for that top-tip.
Hey mister, i know its already too late to me in this conversation. But I really newbie here and want to buy arturia minilab first generation. I really glad tht its worked on the computer (as you mention), but perhaps you can tell me whether it can be work on your android or not. I really want to make some music from caustic DAW via android but i'm not sure with minilab first gen's compatibility. So plz answer this mister. Thx and sry for my bad english >,<
