There is always a breakbeat with sometype of swirling synth/bassline in the stuff I like, that is why I brought up DJ Icey, back in the day with like Smokebelch and stuff.

I believe it was created with the Caustic 3 beta (there a forum here where you can get more info on that)
So is "trap" the official term for 32nd'ing and 48th'ing drum sounds??? This hasbeen around since the early 90's.....
Higher Ground by TNGHT is a trap song that very hard to duplicate. Check it out.

Trap is a term that came out of Florida clubs. This sound as we have talked about has its roots in dnb, jungle and the breaks.
Trap I thinks is more associated with rapping lyrics, thus why its not associated with jungle or breaks.
Its not hiphop either because it has to fast of rolls with snares and hihats.
So again, this genre comes from fast hiphop and rap (and on good trap, a psychedelic twinge).
