Created from C3 beta1-4 over the past 2 weeks. Filled all of the racks with every machine minus vocoder and organ. Im loving C3, especially automation. Please criticize! I take it well and learn from it.

I dunno what to say......
Very well animated and subtle breaks in the beats, and huge variety of sounds and tones.... I would run it thru a compressor to fatten it up, but that's it
Awesome job
I'm downloading this..... wanna play with it a little if that's ok with you
Yeah, I really wish I had a studio with good reference monitors, I did the final mix on my laptop using my computer speakers that have a 6 inch sub. I had a really hard time with the bass design on this one, hopefully it sounds ok. Are there good free compression and mastering vst's out there? I really want izotope ozone but its way expensive.
Yeah Jason play away man, I'm curious to see what you do with it.
10 minute touch-up.... lemme know if you like.... I swapped the Kick and Snare for kick and snare from my Hard 9 PocketKit Pro preset...

Very cool track, it shows you put a lot of time into and it paid off.
I'm pretty sure this track wins the award for "most automation" (and tied for most insert reverbs). I'm just glad someone's using the pattern automation. The reverbs had me more worried.
My CPU went in the yellow a few times (HTC One) but didn't underrun, did you make this one mobile or Windows?
I did 95% of it on mobile then finished it on PC. I can't play it now on mobile without it overloading. As you can tell I love the new reverb effect and the cabinet effect is sweet too. There is no way I would have the patience to do this much automation without the new editing tools you created. Thanks again Rej for all of the hard work you put into 3.0, it really has helped me be more creative!
Jason, while I like the added reverb on the snare I'm not so sure about it on the kick. I exported your modified version and just listened to it and it is clipping really bad. I wonder if I need to export it on my PC vs mobile. I'm not able to get on my PC at the moment so I can try later.
Hmmmm.... It didn't appear to be clipping on my end (PC) but then again, C3 has been acting strange on PC since Alpha 2 or 3 for some reason.... which may be translating to you in a bad way somehow....
Reviewing the Song File on my end maybe popped "above the line" once or twice, but that's it....
Did it smooth out if you kicked down the Master Level? or is the clipping coming from the mixers?
I almost added a Vinyl Sim, but I remember it had a weird effect that ended up badly clipping the entire mix...
I'm curious to what you've got vs. what I have here...
J.. I emailed you an exported .wav of shimmer eip.
Got it -- I'll be in touch..... PC acts different than Mobile with C3 for some reason.... but I can't nail it down what exactly...
So I just went out to my truck to listen to shimmer since I have a 10" sub in it. It sounds like ass! I had a hell of a time getting a nice deep low bass tone out of both modular and the bassline machines. It also sounds like everything is in mono since I can hardly hear any of the panning that I automated. This is super frustrating. I'm not sure if its my mix or if I might have some phasing issues.
Love the guitar/sitar sound used for that drone/chord that repeats, great beats too
I even like the wub-wub'ing.
Nicely done, dude.

Its funny, the only things I like from dubstep are the wobble basses and drums, the rest I hate like the high pitched shreaky synths and such.. I like to borrow certain aspects of genres that sound good to me and try to mix them into my own tracks. The sitar sound I made by accident on the FM synth, not sure what preset I started from. The little scratchy percussuon sounds were made by taking drum samples and cropping them really short. I hope we will eventually get pitch control in the wave editor, then we can make some really cool textured glitchy noises.
You would be amazed at what you can do with pitch, reverse, and cutting up and totally mutilating one drum sample.
Damn you got all kinds of shit in this track! It sounds expensively made! You a bad dude.... Super Nice!!! :-)

i fiddled with the mix of your track...and got a nice deep base ...im listening to it on a decent pair of studio monitor headphones with a relatively flat response and it sounds good to me.
heres my file

Very cool track! You gave a unique ambiance to this. Sound good here.
Exactly what I do on my side.
Thanks for the kind words everyone!
Dan, your mix does sound a bit better. I followed your lead and tweaked a few more settings and reomoved a few samples I didnt like. I plan on remixing this for a while until I get it right. I should have played on more systems before posting it I suppose. It does sound really good on my Beyer Dynamic DT-770's and my computer speakers, but once a real subwoofer is involved the low end is really lacking.
Looking forward to what you do with it..... I got it on my phone to listen with other stuff when I get in brainstorm mode...
J, now that we have panning on the pcm im thinking of swapping the beatbox and using one of your pocket kits. Which one do you recommend for this track?
PocketKit Hard 9 for sure, like what I did with your track before.....
You know what's weird? I went in again, and looked at my mix, seemed "ok" but I backed down the Limiter and Master Line level a bit (approx. -2db) and sounded not bad without any undesireable clipping.
However when I put it in my car, playing from my phone, it did sound strange, like it was clipping or more like hitting a hard-wall limiter in a few spots....
But then again, when I first loaded up your song, I flew thru it very quick, so I didn't really sit down and really see and hear what each part was doing (especially in the 60-80hz range, where there seems to be the most action across 4-5 presets) the Hard9 Kick resonates at 50hz (although I think I cut down the decay a bit to let the mid-bass cut thru a little better and thicken up the reverb effect on it (for a resonating majestic thump)
Just a few thoughts I was thinking about it tonight.... I might peek into that again, it is such a fun piece, I may feature it on my website soon.... I'm considering showcasing some user's best work, and this track will be at the top of the list for sure...
Yeah it sounded over compressed to me especially on the arpsynth in the middle of the track, I could barely hear it. Hopefully I will get some more time to try the hard9 preset soon. I'm still messing around with the wobble bass and low bass to try and get that really fat low end so common in dubstep. I might have to ditch using the modular for the lowbass and go with the bassline machine or pcm, I think I can get a better tone from those since I'm more familiar with them.
the subsynth is a good choice. try making both oscillators sine waves, detuned then add a low pass filter...played in lower octaves makes a nice deep base.
but then ive downloaded some nice deep base wavs from rhythmlab
Oh yeah forgot about the subsynth, thanks!
Colorful track. Thanks for sharing.

Finally got this track where I want it mixing wise. Let me know what you guys think, I changed a few presets, efx and tried to make it a more polished sound. To get more low end I used the multi filter insert effect which worked great until I played it with the drums, which led to some serious mudding issues. I was starting to think the compressor wasnt capable of keeping up with the fast quadruple kick section, so I checked the documentation on the effects section when I read one very important line of text-
"The signal direction is top to bottom, meaning the machine's audio come into the topmost effect (if present) then gets sent into the bottom-most insert effect (if present) and then into the mixer's input strip for that machine."
I have been loading compressors in the first slots which for bass is a bad idea if you have a filter running after it. Anyway, I learned soooo much writing this track and cant wait to finish my next one which I hope will be even better.
i like your remix...sounds great,.. punchy drums.
Awesome track mekanism! Particularly good from 1 min or onwards, very rich.
Yeah I know have so much more to learn but am happy to finally get a track to sound decent on more than just my headphones. I could spend even more time on this one but I have been working on it for a better part of 3 weeks and I think its time to move on to the next one.
Thanks for listening everyone!
Dude it gets better and better, and the extra goodies you sneaked in there..... Sweeeeeeet.
Love it.
I 'borrowed' the Sitar patch on my trance tune "Spiral Jacobs'

Cool, I couldn't tell which sound it was in yout track though, did you add a bunch of reverb to it?
Ping Pong delay - it's the sound that opens the track, I must have tweaked it quite a bit, I did rotate the algorhythms a few times until I got the sound I wanted
