When you're there take a look

When you're there take a look at my avatar, you might get "where" I'm coming from. wink Or where I am at, never left.

I swear there are a couple times a year where goa trance just rocks my soberness right out of the ball park.

I've not gone picking in years - I guess / hope that people the age I was then do still head to the country and into farmers' fields late August / Early September smiley

it's a weird debate,

it's a weird debate, especially if you choose to debate it with right wing morons and / or the religious Right. I believe we have the freedom to alter our consciousness - my mind and body belong to me, not the state, or the church, there's also a world of difference between drug use and drug abuse.

My experiences with Psilocybin were really positive and life affirming. Loosening up the rules, allowing things to be grown and /or made, taxed and subject to quality control is the adult response imo.

Expanding the law to make sure you don't drive when high (and you're not in control) should follow too. Alcohol is a drug, it's just the main recreational drug in the Western World that happens to be legal - it doesn't change the fact that Alcohol is just as much as drug as speed, weed, ecstasy, LSD etc...

Yup, I have been to all those

Yup, I have been to all those places James, you probably can guess that. But I am a family man as well and stay sober till the chicks are out of the house. I don't even drink, maybe some wine or something but this is the exact opposite of my 10 years past.

I think the problem is humans are most little kids that make continuous bad decisions and the current right wing government is exactly what we need. Mind you if a space ship beamed me up right now I would be giving the finger to the earth people and saying with a laugh, good luck morons (jokingly).

But having nature shown to you by some higher frequency is a very truthful experience that is only experienced when you are at a stage to experience it. Other than this, drugs kill, ruin families and are constantly abused by people running from themselves, thus the laws and regulations.

I'm a pretty normal citizen -

I'm a pretty normal citizen - I have a good job, I pay my taxes, I take part in democracy, I just believe that we should grow up and make our drugs policies less ridiculous - legalising Heroin would be dangerous but even Cocaine has surprisingly low addiction rates (excluding crack of course). Nicotine is addictive and potentially more dangerous than Coke or Smack if the purity of their supply was guaranteed.

All those laws about not driving when fucked up should apply too - no matter what you're fucked up on.

Right Wing - right path? No, never from my perspective, I'm not opposed to libertarian views (I'm broadly libertarian) but the right are also obsessed with drugs, religion, sexuality and what people can and can't do, the Tea Party are also a front for big business to do what it wants and continue to fuck each and everyone of us over...

Drugs kill - Alcohol is a drug and the single biggest killer worldwide, just because it's 'culturally acceptable' doesn't mean it's 'good'.

If I turned up to work pissed (UK for drunk) then I'd expect a massive bollocking or the the sack. turn up high and the rules should be the same.

Right wing ... don't forget

Right wing ... don't forget to read my 2nd paragraph. My point is, humans at the capacity of a government level cannot make these decisions that you so easily and logically express.

I still see millionaires made from stealing elders money, to children having children. I can't even classify my way of living because I just don't subscribe to the waste in this world.

Its a shame really because as a race viewed from a high Mt. humans look evolved, but its really just a drama just like hollywood where they are all acting like they know what the hell they are talking about.

You and I could meet each other one day and actually have a useful conversation about the universe, thats all I really value.

Right wing millionaires are

Right wing millionaires are not exemplars, unless we're talking about 'know your parasite' wink

From my perspective, the right are pretty much everything wrong with the world - they spread fear, divide us all - the fact that half of them claim to be religious is the killing joke.

Equally, I think you're awesome and I love chatting to you laugh

Being left doesn't mean 'weak' - it means 'don't be a dick' :)

This is so off topic but yet,

This is so off topic but yet, I think we are on this rock to learn how to unite the divided.

Whether it's yin and yang, black and white, the struggle to bring everything together makes it fun. When life ceases to be fun is when I exit stage left. cheeky

Often the uniting the divided

Often the uniting the divided results in compromising greatness though.  You can't please everyone, and often you just have to be yourself, even if it means someone can't get along with you.  I'd rather be truly myself, than unite and lose that part of me. I can't imagine life being fun, where the best parts of me were left behind in order to "unite" with people that can't except me how I am.

I really enjoyed reading this

I really enjoyed reading this thread while listening to your track necromaniac. I'm pretty much of James' opinion. Legalize 'em all and place boundaries to protect society, the same way we've (mostly) done with alcohol. You wanna do crack? fine, stay at home and don't put others in danger. You have kids? man up and make sure what you do doesn't affect your ability to raise them right, the same way you shouldn't be getting drunk and beating your kids now. If you need society to protect yourself from yourself, something's broken.

@Necro: You mention "post-grad residency" ... medecine? if so, what speciality?

Folks I want to say one last

Folks I want to say one last thing and I am out, when I said Unite, unite means Build in my language.

If you met me in person you would know one thing, I have a hard time tolerating ticks and leeches, to me they are parasites whether insect or human.

 agreed, sometimes compromise

yes agreed, sometimes compromise is productive and useful, equally stuff decided by commitee often sucks (bawls) too.

I have no solution - just a fuck load of fears. I notice the world creeping to the right and get very very afraid :/ The right is the path of ignorance and fear,, intollerence, venial gread...it's back in vogue due to Global Austerity sad

Yeah, and making that

Yeah, and making that conscious choice in 1999 to sit my ass down in reality enabled me to meet Rej, cause if I hadn't have I wouldn't have met Rej and my life would be totally different.

Very interesting discussion

Very interesting discussion all based off of this track..... very nice work man, takes me back to 90's trance..... I really enjoyed it then, especially german style.... this sounds alot like that in some ways.

Over the decades of my life (I'm 39 now) I have seen the yields of drugs and alchohol, and it is sad to see people I grew up with disintegrate and some die cuz of the mis-use of that crap.  My wife and I enjoy a good Aussie, Italian, or French red wine, but that's about the extent of it.   Me myself, I will not let myself get drunk (I don't like that sensation, been there before)  I have a wonderful wife and now three awesome daughters, and I am responsible for their safety and well-being, and nothing -- nothing will impair me from my duty to them (and myself for that matter)

I think (well I can only really speak of USA people here) we need to wake the heck up and start looking around us..... we got some mess to clean up and start thinking of others instead of just ourselves...... be it as individuals, as government, or as business..... I think we have kind of derailed ourselves in modern society..... too many consumers, and not enough creators.   I see much talent and potential on this forum, I hope to be able to do anything I can to help inspire people to create things and grow.... it is a much better purpose in life than to just eat it all up.

Anyways, I digress as well on this thread.   Awesome track, I enjoyed it thouroughly, and hope that you will hang on to this during your residency, to help you drain your brain so you don't burn out.   Music creation is such a stress-reliever, never let go of it.  Your piece here shows me alot about you that most people don't see...

Well done  yescool EIPSO Thumbs Up

Oh Wow! I never thought I'd

Oh Wow! I never thought I'd wake up and find so many comments! Well that's an interesting debate there, but I dont see psychotropic substances getting legalized in the near future. Are they good? Are they bad? A person tripping would say its the best and most peaceful moment he has experienced. A person watching the other on drugs lying down and babbling would say its the worst experience one can be in.
Cops will catch you if you are high on alcohol or on lsd doesn't matter.

Personally I've had cannabis, alcohol and cigarettes(thankfully decreased the nicotine consumption). I stay sober most of the time but do sometimes enjoy the company of good quality ganja. I've seen patients die of heroin OD, some ruin their education and career coz of drugs and their weak will.

In my opinion too much of everything is always bad be it carrots or coke. Your life, your responsibility and only you will be held accountable for everything that happens in your life and is under your control.
As far as possible stay clean, dont overdo anything and life will be much better.

With that said Thanks to everyone who liked this track. check my Soundcloud for more goa trance.

@rej- yup I'm starting my residency in Ophthalmology this month end.
@jblann- Thanks a lot sir, if I am not busy then I'll probably be putting out a track every 2-3 weeks or so..lets see how it goes. :)

As always, Enjoy the Trip!

Quality track, quality thread

Quality track, quality thread.

The tune took me back to my youth (actually did the Goa thing, loved India). Drugs, I don't think they are good or bad, they are just chemicals which alter perceptions and emotions, it's your state of mind which is important. If you take them to escape, you will have a problem because shit will always be there when you get back, if you think they are going to reveal some secret knowledge about the universe you may have a problem, because all heir revelations are ephemeral.

At best they can give you a different perspective which can be employed in a creative way. Anyway that's my 2p worth.

Thanks for the thread all of you.

yes absolutely agree - my analogy was always TV and soap operas instead of carrots though laugh I guess I'm arguing in favour of choice and the ability to make decisions legally as a rationale human being.
