I watched one on compression, and though things I've heard on here have been helpful, I was able to SEE what was going on, and it gave me a couple pieces of understanding I was missing.
(so I'm working on a new song, and I have to keep from over using the dang compressor now.
)
Yeah,being able to take it in visually helps me a lot, too. Really glad you like it.
Yeah, Graham is awesome. Definitely worth subscribing to the Youtube channel, but he also has a website where he writes useful blog posts (www.recordingrevolution.com) and an email newsletter with some exclusive material. Lots of good stuff. He and another mixer also do a thing called Dueling Mixes, where they send out a new song every month for everyone to mix, and Graham and the other guy also do their own mixes and explain what they did, and then everyone votes for which of the two was their favorite. It's a paid service and I haven't done it yet, but it sounds like a good way to hone your mixing skills.

I recommend tue SOS articles as well (SoundOnSound) very detailed content about audio, mixing, mastering, effects, and synthesis, featuring graphical and audio examples to help understand it all better....
Once you start down the rabbit hole....
This was a unique one...

that was a great one...dezz is referring more to work with live performers, but the same ideas can be applied to sequenced music.
¿que onda, pachuco?
running it live is more of a challenge, but generally the same concepts apply.... especially in the digital domain... although running 24+ channels live sound is sooooo much fun.
24+ channels? Sounds like a headache to me, lol...but yes, in a fun way.
