Me and 2014 aren't really quite seeing eye to eye at the moment - this is an angry, noisy track generally inspired by the current situation in Israel, the Ukraine, the lurch to the right in Western European politics. and people that stir up hatred and thrive on lies and ignorance - Fox News, the Tea Party, Sarah Palin, Rupert Murdoch, UKIP, Marie Le Pen and any other 'insert name here' that I haven't listed yet..
Musically it's inspired by Godflesh, circa Streetcleaner and anything that's generally a chaotic noisy mess, no .caustic file, too many commercial BB's and not sure if anyone would want it.
I posted a version of this a few weeks ago before asking Rej to delete it - its evolved into something guitar driven, just as angry but even noisier and messier.
I'm now slightly embarrassed and feel a little like a baby throwing its toys out of the pram
Let's just hope that it's a cathartic experience
This made me smile, it's got a real heavy sound to it. Not what I would normally listen to, yet I kept listening. Nice work.
As for the news, I try not to get too bothered by stuff I can't control.

Now that I've read the description, and you've reminded me of the track "Like Rats" from said album, I will insert ear-buds and have a listen.

Good grief man, your description of the track is spot on. What's the sample saying, sounds like it says 'Spite'? Can ready feel the frustration in this. It builds constantly throughout the whole track. Good work on this. I think you've accomplished converting your feelings into sound.

...but as an individual you can try and influence things by choosing who you vote for, choosing where you shop, choosing to reduce your carbon footprint, choosing which charities to donate to, choosing how you behave in society and at work - it all counts, and the actions of millions of people add up.
Almost everything we do has a political dimension whether we choose to acknowledge it or not.
...but I do have a degree in Political Studies so maybe I'm bound to think like that

I used the vocoder and Vocality - the words are 'Spite' and 'The rise of the Right'. Glad you got something out of it, hopefully I did too!

I can definitely hear the Godflesh influence here. That guitar sound is amazing, one of the best I've heard in Caustic The vocals are superb, really lifts this to another level imo (also highlights what an incredibly useful tool Vocality can be in the right hands). The concept is one close to my heart too, the politics of the right just exasperate me. Napalm Death have a track called "Striding Purposefully Backwards" and that title pretty much sums up my feelings about the Right.

'Metalstabmute' from the Big Beard Audio Real Instruments Caustic pack - it has mute and more open versions of the same chords.
Vocality is so useful, it delays me having to try and sing into my tablet, hopefully forever
Massive props to Boojeroo for creating such an effective tool and to Rej for integrating it into Caustic so seamlessly.
Right Wing Politics to me are the politics of self interest, ignorance and hate and they're probably what will destroy us in the end (cheerful thought I know).
Justin from Godflesh was in an early line up of Napalm Death (I think the one that recorded one side of Scum) so a nice symmetry between my track and your comment too.

I knew some of the story behind the track but nothing really prepared me for this onslaught to my receptors. Obviously I love it! I am thinking this is the start of a new genre: Political Dance Music.

I hate politics in general.... Here in the USA..... Republican or Democrat.... Doesn't matter anymore. It has devolved into a pile of crap that, what we were founded on two hundred thirty some years ago is a far cry of the mess we are today. I don't know what much we can do, but to be a positive influence in our family, and local community and those we interact with in our daily lives..... The government crap will implode eventually, but for us little people, life goes on. I don't pay much attention to the depressing manipulative news out there and live in fear of whatever is going to manifest itself in the near future.
I will keep trucking and doing my thing and keep the creativity inspiration going and helping this community grow. Being here is such a refreshing escape.... And this track is another example of why we are here.
Nice work as always, James. This is hands down my favorite track of yours.
Frank needs to put this on MusicalAndroid.
Nice use of PocketPro II, wow this really rocks
I find politics interesting but at the moment depressing too. Nothing really positive has come from the Arab Spring...yet, and doubt there will be now.
...the last big positive changes I can remember were probably the agreements between the Republican and Loyalist Factions in Northern Ireland in the late 90's, helped along by none another than Bill Clinton (proof that not all American Diplomatic interventions are unwanted or unhelpful)
..and the transition of countries like Poland, Estonia, the Czech and Slovak republics into modern democracies and joining the EU.
But for all the positives in Europe you've got the spectre of the Balkan Wars and then the struggles of countries / republics like Ukraine and Georgia to shake free from Russia.
I'd rather not think of myself as a little person though - I'm not a big person either, I'd rather we all just thought of ourselves as people
Some us are too humble, some of us could do with a fair amount of imposed humbling
Glad you liked it though Jason - and yup, 3 Pocket Kit Pro's make the backbone of it. Maybe this was me facing my fear of / fear for the future.

I'm with Jason on this, definitely my favourite track of yours. Really good stuff James.
I think there are some people on both sides that have good intentions, I will not name names, but I think the few good ones that are trying are being bullied out because both parties have been infiltrated by corruption. I get better news off the internet and I do follow it..just got to read between the lines and research. Good expressive track James.
Impressive track, sounds awesome :)
Thanks everyone - I think I'll try and revisit this style again at some point too.

Arrrrg, I need to get on the SC and drop some lines on your guys' tracks, and not just here..... I'll try to catch up on that this week, help get the word out...
A lot of energy, aggressive and it has that nice resonating bass note underneath it all to help the listener when they need a soft hand.
I feel you on politics. I used to avoid them, I thought there was nothing I could do so why try.
Until I woke up. The power and change we have is in LOCAL politics. Legislators in your districts to start. Get good ones in and it will effect the house and Senate and so forth. I now do grassroots organizing for progressive local politics. We're making our city and state do what we want, not the other way around.
I'll listen to this song when I head to city council to tell our congresswoman why she sucks and doesn't deserve another term. Haha good stuff

Superb track James! Listened to it a while ago but didn't get the chance to comment so just wanted to let you know that this is a great piece of work. Angry, powerful, driving and great use of sounds to convey your emotion. I empathise not only with this track but the sentiment behind it. Love the guitar sound as well.. Get down this road again soon!
