"Sanxion" 8-bit C64 cover

OK, this has been hard working getting this one done... I've still not listened to it in my car for mastering purposes so I'll probably make a couple of tweaks to levels here and there, but I think the gist of this is done.

Rob Hubbard was a master craftsman at writing c64 music, I've tried to keep the spirit of the original 8bit sound without drowning it with too much 'modern' fx. I think it works out!

2 subs, 3 pcms, 2 basslines, 2 beatboxes and an 8bit

I sweated blood to make this

I sweated blood to make this work! Keeping a relatively authentic c64 vibe and using more modern sounds as well as beefing the whole thing up was delicate!

On top of that... Its so complicated and progressive! Just figuring out the notes was a nightmare!

Anyway... Thanks for the comments :)

A lot of chip tune sounds

A lot of chip tune sounds deliberately and defiantly low-fi, you managed to imply chip tune, and get some high quality glossy sounds in there instead - a clever trick.

I don't know the original - my video gaming really started with Doom on a housemates 486Dx2, we also used to play Worms as a household, 4 of us in a tiny room smiley

The hard work shows RF, this

The hard work shows RF, this is really excellent.  I love those old C64 tunes.  You've managed to keep the feel of the original and added some Caustic weight and crunch to it.

If you're thinking of doing another can I make a request cheeky?  Don't think this one is a Rob Hubbard composition but it's a quality tune nonetheless.
