I didn't find any threads like this, but I figure it be nice to share tips for the new caustic user's.
Do:
*Have fun! It's what drives me, when you take the fun out, the music loses its soul.
*Set up a time to compose, else you might end up with unfinished tracks.
Don't:
*Be someone else, just be yourself. If everyone was just like everyone else, the world would be boring place.
This is my opinion in are some do's and don't that have helped me out.
So please go ahead an shares yours (let's not try to debate what's posted, everyone has their opinion. I know, I know, but just trying to keep it concise for the rookies).
Thanks!
MFG
EXACTLY!
Have fun! Play with the settings, in combination, and record the pattern. One can always select all/copy/paste the whole pattern to a different number and repeat. Change things up and do whatever you're comfortable doing.

I would disagree with some of those and suggest the opposite!
Don't set allotted times to compose, you'll only put pressure on yourself, just do it when you feel the urge!
Do copy other people in the beginning, its a great way to learn a tool and ultimately you will find your own sound.
Don't do drugs unless you know they're top quality.

Definitely put a sock in a toaster.
Definitely put pressure on yourself to compose but also follow the urge and have spontaneous sessions regardless of how well your scheduled sessions went.
Leave thoughtful feedback for a couple other user's songs every time you post one in show and tell.
Watch all Rej's tutorials before asking a synth or effect specific question.
Don't be anybody, live in the moment and accept others labels only when you must.
¿que onda, pachuco?
Don't wire up your nut sack to a car battery before a session, you might inadvertently cause an EMP strike on your mobile device.

Do: read through the FR threads and summary before.....
Don't: be posting FR's without doing the Do first.... Heheheh
In any situation, Rob, don't forget to stay well grounded.

With 500+ amps, he'll be grounded alright......
Do: Get a soundcloud account. Post your songs from soundcloud. It is easier on the SCS site, and it will get your music a broader listening audience.
Don't ever say you're not a real musician.

Unless you're being threatened and are in impending pain / death. Ya know... Its not that important.

DO: Make music.
DON'T: Not make music.
...sorry I can't be more helpful here, guys. But I'm happy to report that I've been playing fewer videogames and watching a lot less teevee since I got Caustic. I've almost always got a project or two cooking.

Agreed.....
I was a real electronic music beginner before Caustic. Never made a piece of music on anything other than my acoustic guitar, and only about a dozen(?) finished tunes. Just keep playing around, listening to music and if you're a bit confused by all the buttons and knobs, keep it simple and learn small bits at a time. Im particularly bad at starting something, finding it hard and then giving up (and then getting annoyed with myself for giving up). So if i can do it, anyone can.

Scales, use scales, not random plots on the grid, it helped me a lot
Or random plots on the grid tuned to a scale........
I just force it.

Is this turning into a 12-step group/self-help cult of some kind?
...
Because that would be awesome, and you guys are good at this!
Give me some more!

Is CAUSTIC PLEDGE what you use to clean the dust from your mobile device?
Only if your tablet has a wood surface for the screen.
