Hello everybody! anyone ever remixing the song? i wanna too. but the problem is how to removing the arrangements from original track into vocals only?
by the way, i wanna remixing AVICII Wake Me Up into my version.
and, is we can removing the arrangements only using Caustic?
if anyone can help me, it would be great..
Peace and Thank You!!
What you ask is technically impossible. There are some programs that do a decent job but none is able to clean of the background music entirely. The only way to rip clean vocals out of a song is to use the stem from the original song, but I strongly doupt that Tim will give it to you. But you could always get the lyrics and sing the piece yourself ;)
Also, there's a whole subreddit dedicated to song stems.

Cannot be done.... Period. A rendered mixdown simply cannot be "unmixed". Don't waste your time and effort with gadgets and gimmicks claiming to do just that. It is just not possible.
Vocal extraction is possible given the mix allows it. It can be sketchy and it requires a computer and the proper software to do it

A 5.1 or 7.1..... Maybe...... Maybe..... But not from a 2.x mix
Like I said it's sketchy and the song has to be mixed a certain way but it is possible even with 2.x stereo to isolate the vocals. There are tutorials online to do it with audacity

Mmmmmmm....... that's a decades-old trick, the results may or may not be less than satisfactory.... and may be only most effective in very old songs.... thus the 90's rave, hardcore, jungle era...... alot of modern mixes and music produced employ alot of tricks to avoid such easy "extractions" thus my original statement, of "just not possible" don't even try That's my advice, and I won't blab about it anymore
Well, thanks for you all for the opinion. And thanks to edgey that give me the link for downloading acapellas. Its really help me altrough.
I think MusicRadar has some free vocal bites samplepacks you can download too....
Guys, do NOT click on the link above from "joyalan26". I'm throwing a red flag on this one
Yeah, center panned vocals can be removed to leave some of the background music intact, but Jason is 100% correct when he says it isn't possible. Music that is mixed and mastered together can only be further processed, not LESS processed, anymore than you can undo something you did yesterday. I looked into this for a long time when I was just starting out (some people around here might even remember me taking the opposite stance a year ago). But it's a waste of your time. If you want to get your hands on some fresh vox for remixing, go to remixcomps.com and enter some of the contests they compile. You will have to follow their rules, but you will have unprocessed stems to practice on, and you might win some equipment, or cash.

Yeah, removing arrangements from songs is impossible. BUT... you can silence the arrangements by turning down the proper channel (hi, mid, low) in the mixer. I've heard "Wake Me Up" by Avicii, and it's a mostly mid arrangement under the vocals. However, doing this can distort the vocals. So, either turning up the mid in the parametric equalizer or adding a parametric equalizer effect to the vocoder or whatever you use for the vocals can solve that problem. That's what I do for my remixes (that aren't on Soundcloud because they're copyrighted :( ).
P.S. I would love to hear the finished product! :)
