Synthahol

The sun has been shining so I thought it was time to kick back with a glass of synthahol...

I fell in love with Caustic because of the Bassline, and because it got a bashing recently, I thought I'd create some feel-good bassline action!

Caustic file here for those who were interested:

Nice man! Rej's bassline

Nice man! Rej's bassline kicks ass and the bashing was just a misunderstanding I'm sure. :)

It is funny this whole bassline thing came up. THis is my next creation on Android, the Bassline1 Korg EA-1 emulator using the caustic core.

Basically it totally works like the original except it uses two basline machines. This thing sounds great. I'm sure you could have fun testing this out. smiley

Oh yeah,

Oh yeah,

The graphics are not final, Rej told me the knobs are horrid. :) I grabbed them from a component I was using, anyway.

Mike, I have a few little

Mike, I have a few little ideas about the BassLine and its tone trying to emulate the original box..... a few tricks that I've employed on a few C2 tracks that I have up on SC.....  There is a trick on manipulating the tone into the OverDrive Effect and its Rendered tone-shaped sound......   this is a subject of study for me, because I've created amp sims and tube "modelling" effects on other devices and synths before for previous audio projects of yesteryear...... could become a CausticCore secret recipe of sorts....

Sounds good to me Jason. I have been playing with this app for a bit and I have got it to sound great.

I would love to hear what you have to say off the record. :)

I actually have this sequencer sitting right next to me. I'm going to make a sampler and a drummachine using the same framework as this app uses. So I will have the ER-1 and the ES-1 essentially. :)

BTW, this app can export loops and stuff, save to caustic files so it is usefull for creating basslines as wavs and importing them into the caustic app.

I have also tinkered with

I have also tinkered with layered tones. So say I have 2 parts on thsi machine, as it stands, we have 6 machines the core can load. So that gives my 4 other machines I have layered and detuned. Did a couple other experiements as well, it sounds kewl

The framework uses Parts and Phrases, so I can easily just copy the current phrase of the part into 3 machines and manipulate them all at the same time when setting the steps. So essentially, you get layered tones. That is not going to be in this version though.

When Rej gets unlimited machines, I already have th framework setup to load patches with 4 layered tones each like Roland did with its MC synth engine series.

Just fantastic, sounds sweet.

Just fantastic, sounds sweet. Love the use of some fairly brutal effects on the lead sounds. Really, really blown away. Probably my favourite Caustic tune so far.

Thanks for the comments

Thanks for the comments everyone!

FYI this track used 3xsub-synths, 2xbasslines and 1xbeatbox.

I used a lot of different compressor settings on this one to try out various effects.

Hardfloor!  Yeah this is a great tune alright. Lovin' the acid sounds here. I've always loved Caustic's bassline machines (not quite as good sounding as RD3 HD's?! - don't shoot me!) but still miss the old method of note entry.
