So,
I have been listening a lot to Daft Punk RAM. Really enjoy the album , anyways... Song I most enjoy is Georgio by Moroder. I think this song has all I like in electronic music, probably if I had to describe my EDM self with a song, it would be this one. It just builds and builds and it has some great drumming.
Being the geek I am, I started finding out more info on who this Georgio fella is. As someone who likes dance music, but its not the main music I grew up listening, so, some of these artist I am not familiar with or had no idea, of the impact they had. I guess it took me to a place I should have started a few years ago when I started to write some of this "EDM" music. I discovered who Moroder is and realized how much music he has influenced that I was unaware off. This recent discovery has taken me to a journey to what some people consider the birth of EDM.
I decided to start laying a foundation of what EDM was in the 70's with this track. Styled on what this journey has taken me to. I think its kinda cheesy, but these were simple times back in the late 70's, times of discovery for them, and discovery for me today.
Still working on getting the Niles Rogers sound down. Lots of tweaking the amp for the right tone.
Love & Caustic,
FISH
great retro vibe..... nice work on this
It's a good track, and it definitely has that "Daft Punk" type sound and vibe...I quite like Daft Punk, well like the RAM album, me and the wife like to have a bit of a boogie to it now and again

Gorgeous tune and very elemental of daft punk without just ripping them off. Love it dude, right to the end. Giorgio Moroder is a game changer and a pioneer of edm. I Feel Love, by Donna Summer is pretty much the first trance tune there ever was, and if you listen to it, even today, the basic elements of trance are still present in a lot of today's tunes. Filtered white noise to lift the ambience. Hard panning of bass hits that truly immerse you so you're inside the tune and a part of it, rather than a spectator. It has seemingly random percussion hits that keep it rounding fresh throughout. Even now, that tune stands it's ground against everything it has helped to spawn in its wake. I dont think trance, house, any form of edm would be what it is without Moroder. I do go on lol, but it simply is a building block for everything else

Thanks for listening and the comments, Jason, Wes and Al.
@wes "me and the wife like to have a bit of a boogie to it now and again"... Lol, enough said.
Great track FISH!
Lots of elements going on at the same time and that's what keeps a good track in a good shape;)

Thanks, when life gives you lemons you make... I rather life give me limes... There for I can make mojitos and margaritas and caipirihna.
I first discovered both Ray Lynch and Giorgio Moroder many years ago though the Coast to Coast AM radio show that used be hosted by Art Bell. He used them as bumper music. Love both of them.
On your track I really love the little "wakka wakka" guitar that's kind of quiet, the one panned to the right. it's subtle, and things like that make this sound kind of analog and "real".
Its a wakka wakka that I recorded and it just repeats most of the song. It was my intent of giving it that 70's disco vibe. Guess it works, as long as one person likes it, I know I did good.
Thanks for listening, comments most appreciated, gonna go check out Ray Lynch now.
Ray is more of a new age guy. But all electronic. Deep Breakfast is his hit record.
Sounds great "con este caloron!'';P

Hello, Fish. Thanks for sharing the tune. Great composition. I'm relatively new to caustic and I'm wondering how you did that muted sort of string instrumentation?... As I write this, I kinda think its a low pass filter, realizing I may already know the answer to my question, but I still may be wrong. Regardless, unless you want to keep your technique a trade secret, I'm still terribly interested.
String with low pass. https://www.dropbox.com/s/5kop1h1t3endrog/Strings%20L1.pcmsynth?dl=0
Above is the preset.
Love the mix dude :)
Thanks Danny H!
