skarabee, i tried to use the "wide" feature to create a stereo effect on the drums, but for some reason it pushes the sound to the left...im going to have to go back and remove the effect altogether or compensate the shift by panning the drums to the right a bit.
Yes, I supposed this was the use of the width. This is caused by the small delay, and had been discuted before. You can use the width, but you have to use the panpot to recenter your track. I think you don't need width in this case, your drum is punchy and precise, keep it centered. If you used the beatbox, you could pan individual sounds, like the toms or little percs, keeping the main beat in the middle of your mix.
i used a pcmsynth drum kit, (jblann's trance pocket kit) so no panning of individual sounds, unless i deconstruct the kit and export the individual samples to wav, then create a beatbox kit and reconstruct the beat,..sigh, sounds like a lot of work..lol...however, im hopepful that a future incarnation of caustic will allow panning of individual samples samples in the pcmsynth.
My little remix touchup, removed the "Wide" effect. IMHO, should not be used for Bass and Drum sounds.... You don't want side-shift issues in the stereo field for such sounds as they will seriously muddy up your mix. Your ear wants to hear solid bass tone frequencies (especially with long wavelengths generated from subharmonic frequencies below 125hz)
Your ear also wants to hear crisp clean transient attacks from percussive instruments from a single sound source, not from 2. Panning a side-shifted signal will not nesecarrily "fix" your misc. The sound appears to come from the left, because your ear is "fooled" into thinking the sound is coming from the left side. Watch your meters or even scope it out, you will find that the signal level "volume" is exactly the same on both sides. That's why alot of soundguys will mic overhead drums in X/Y fashion, insttead of an A-B mic spread, because of that "Wide" effect on some sounds from certain drums being recorded.
So in my playing around, I removed the "Wide" effect completely from your drums.
Sorry for my little rant... it's a touchy issue for me LOL
yeah i checked it out, no way around it really, the wide just doesnt work on the drums at all....thanks for the great advice...im going to post your version of this track as the final, i tweeked it a little, and i added a couple measures at the end..i think it sounds great...thanks for the tweeks you added.
thanks,...good idea im going to do it....lol though Castilian Overture is pretty amasing...that's my pick for a winner...because its totally outside the box for caustic.
I’ve been watching this song develop with great interest. It’s been amusing listen to all the versions made by all of you but I must say this is more than I’ve been expecting. This is a really good mix and over all production. Well done sir.
Really nice track, love the bass sound, and as mentioned already, a really tight mix. Thanks for providing the song file, it's great being able to peek into how others make their tracks!
I finally got round to giving this track the time to have a proper listen, and I love it! It's different yet again to what's been posted so far. We're seeing some really good tracks covering an eclectic range of styles lately.
yes it was boojero's app. Vocality. simple but effective, nice idea for spoken word samples....the more sing songy samples were downloaded royalty free, off the net..shortened to fit the music.
Dude, that is a tight mix!
Is this a direct export from Caustic or run through other software?
If it's straight from C2, I'd love to see the source file (if not publicly, maybe in private via email?)
Yeah this is niiiiiice. Good work on this, love it!
this is all caustic, ill post the file via drop box
here is the caustic file. most of the sounds are tweeked presets

EIPSO Thumbs Up
wow!, i love what you did to the subsynth, with the effects...pretty awsome.
. im learning everytime i download someones song file...cool.
Thanks for sharing, great stuff.
I really like the bass too. Warm but with some punch. May see if I can write a slow dub-ish tune around it.

congratulations Danjdob. Great work! Clear and punchy. After 1 mn, the drums moves a bit on the left. I presume this is intentional?
thanks guys,

While this is very good, I must say I enjoyed listening to it's evolution along the way.

LOL, you can just tweak it or change it or whatever, it is YOUR final track, not mine LOL..... YOU made it, and it sounds AWESOME....to YOUR credit k.
It spanks my so-called trance track outta the water for sure.... again good work
this is the final version....i happy with how it sounds...im sure there could be some tweeks to improve it...but im going to leave as it is
Absolutely stunning. This mix is hot. This needs to be entered into the MusicalAndroid 3rd music contest, when it gets rolling.
Well done sir.

EIPSO Thumbs Up for housy hotness

I thought you wrote it somewhere but I can't find it back....how did you get the vocals? Were they from a Test To Speech app? If so, which one?
