Customised Drumracks

Some of you will think I'm really dumb but I've only just got used to the idea that the drum racks can be completely customised. A month or two ago I got accustomed to swapping a snare or high hat into another preset kit but I've only just realised today that even some of the standard kits have more samples than can be active at once - 10 909 samples, only 8 slots per drum rack. Then I looked at the Big Beard and Audiovapour content packs and realised I had a huge number of samples that weren't bundled into a preset kit that I could select...but were there if I created a custom one. I found a bunch of Reggae drums, separate to Skarabee's awesome roots kit. I have DRUMS literally engulfing me, wow!

Hidden secrets!

I've found and use the menu for changing pattern length, smallest intervals, transpose etc. Been using them a lot lately. I know there's a way of recording automation without recording live, eventually got it to work but then abandoned any plans to use it right now. Other than importing my own sounds into the pcm synth and/or drumrack what's left?

The thing I now know I miss

The thing I now know I miss  is that the new kit package for the drumrack doesn't allow you to separate out the sounds. You can still swap sounds for ones from the older presets but can't get to the individual samples for the new ones :(

The next version will allow

The next version will allow you to edit the WAV samples inside a beatbox kit. Once inside the editor, you can save the file out to a standard WAV to be loaded into any of the WAV instruments.

I'll have a look at making the WAV file browser recognize .beatbox files as "folders" that can be opened so that loading a single sample from a package is possible too.

easter egg

If you press three times E4 and then one long press on C4 during the full moon of June, you will enter a hidden multidimensionnal portal, but shhhh... This is called the "Ludwig function" laugh

Yeah ok, that's done. You'll

Yeah ok, that's done. You'll be able to browse beatbox presets as folders in the next version and load samples from within them. (even the old files that didn't contain the samples inside the preset!)

This will only work in the beatbox sample selector though, it would be too messy to allow it for all machines. But like I said, say you want to load a drum sound into a PCMsynth channel or vice-versa, you'll be able to export the WAV manually through the sample editor too. This little feature is only an extra time saver.
