I finished this baby of mine Tha I've been working on for a month. Using the new mastering app I polished it to a pretty good standard. Whole thing made in caustic.
Glad I finally got some bass in my track. :D I love this one!

Spotted this in the Mastering forum - it really does have that 'epic' feel to it - love the orchestral section and build up, great work!
My Soundcloud
Amazing.
Very nice, sounds great!
the mastering app really can make stuff sound grand.

Thanks guys :D yep the mastering app is great. I used this chain: mulligans compressor>compressor>parametric equalizer>graphic equalizer>exciter>multiband compressor>clipper>imager
I didn't really do anything with the imager but the rest I used. The compressors were set to barely trigger but since there are 3 they really nicely squash and beef up the sound. The exciter is great for the hats... With the equalizers I did most on the parametric eq working by boosting or cutting about 1dB which actualky makes quite a noticeable difference and with the graphic I just boosted 63 hz and the 4k range a little... Like we're talking small stuff. A lot of going back and forth as well... I'm pleased with the result though :)

Here you go :) lots of samples and presets can be taken from this lol... Anything with a mrsh in front was made by moi in some way except for the choir and French horn because that was just me combining the two... Enjoy...

Oh by the way it's 205mb so it's a reasonably large file

Hahahahahahaha it's needed or I wouldn't be able to put in so much into my songs... :) my phone has started to choke a little bit sometimes though...

This sounds pretty huge. Loving the warm string sound and general lushness.
Thanks :) the strings are made using the merge rack combining A solo violin, a warm string pad, a realistic strings preset, and the same thing figured differently on the other side... With adorable bass on the bottom two octaves :) glad you liked it...

That is a fine, fine track! It is like a soundtrack in search of visuals. It is just perfectly suited to being paired with video.

Where have you been getting your orchestral sounds? I've tried a few I found online and none have the nice sound yours have.

Strings are custom : P just some soundfonts mixed and panned to give a massive sound... Choir is from sonatina, french horn from sonatina, the pad is again custom from 3 padsynths eq'd and panned...
Just spend some time combining your soundfonts for an instrument and equing and panning them and then use the merge rack to get a bigger, better patch... Good luck :)

Thanks, I'll try that built-up approach in the future. Merge rack will have to wait. I made a conscious decision to wait until Rej releases 3.2. I feel I've barely scratched the surface on 3.1 so want to keep learning what I have before jumping onto the new additions.
Thanks for the info.

No problem jhs :)
Thanks for the suggestion edgey... I'm on the lookout for labels right now and I was going to send this off to one but decided that since this is my first track with a decent mix not to do it yet as I wanted to build up a portfolio on my SoundCloud... O'm planning on re-writing my old tracks to a higher standard as well :P
Plus that's a massive label XD do you have contacts there or sometjing? :)

Sorry no contacts anywhere. Your track just reminds me of the "fluro" style that Paul Oakenfold plays.

Nice groove, well done, sir
Class track Mr shots. Love the filter at end of drum roll in breakdown build up into the little stutter then bam!!.
AngryBulldog
Thanks beefdirt... I love stutters a lot ;P Mt next track is pretty mega and is either as good as this one or better I'm not sure yet... But the effect near the drop is pretty cool as well, Comb filter sweeping down and a highpass sweeping up :P
Btw the effect in this track was a Flanger and a chorus :)
I make creative EDM utilising Caustic and many other Daws. See for yourself on my SoundCloud, you may like it :) https://soundcloud.com/xandyaudio thanks!
Ha yea the flanger and chorus go well together don't they gives it a mad fazed sweep effect. With the comb filter I can't get a sweep out of it, not sure of how it works properly. I did use it over some breakbeat as an intro for a breakbeat/4beat hardcore track I started n it gave it a nice ringing effect like some old hardcore breaks have
AngryBulldog
You have to automate the frequency knob ;)

Great work.... I really love that string sound that you put together. Also all of your pads and sawsynth patches are amazing. Might borrow a couple for my next caustic track if that's okay. I also need to learn to use the merge rack feature, sounds like a super useful way to make some huge patches.

Holy crapballs... I've been stuck in my own little musical world for a while now, not hearing anything interesting. Came out for some fresh aire, and whiffed a little nitrous with this one. My jaw dropped, hit the floor and started dancing out of the room.
Beautiful track, nice mix, massive sound appeal!
Cheers!
:D glad you liked it... New one is in the pipeline and almost done...
Wow I got so many comments on this track... Feels great!

This was very inspiring, motivating... Just a great track. Became a Mr Shot follower. Amazing!
Heheheh I just realized your stretch effect, and reverse reverb tricks. Nicely done.
Nice that was noticed Jason, all my samples are edited somehow ;) and the bass part of the kick synthesised...
I didn't think anyone would notice that...
