Faster way to import multiple samples in PCM synth ?

Is there a faster way to import multiple samples into pcm synth ?

For example, I have 30 FX samples I want to have under my fingertips during music making, but having to import and key them all 1 by 1, argh ...

If not, I will post something into the feature suggestion.

Maybe like a drag and paste

Maybe like a drag and paste outside app that we could just import like a preset

You zip all of them into a

You zip all of them into a single zip

If you name the samples in a

If you name the samples in a certain way before you zip then they will be auto assigned to certain notes (e.g. C2_SAMPLE1 puts the sample on C2).

You may also find this preset useful.  http://www.singlecellsoftware.com/node/9987

Seriously. This is a great

Seriously. This is a great feature... BUT . I think you have to put the key on the END of the sample.. I just did a test with 7 samples... It only worked when I put _C1 etc on the end of the samples .

BUT! Possible bug here.. Attention Rej ,  I used _C1, _C2, _C3 etc as prefixes BUT the first sample went from C1 only to   F#1 .. And then all the other samples spread their octave from F# to F#.

Rej, is this a bug or have I done something wrong

Unless you're planning on

Unless you're planning on replacing 85 blank samples, you might find the original, 2 octave version here a bit more sensible.

@Stockhausen Yes, Note names

@Stockhausen Yes, Note names at the end, not the beginning.  And I remember there being something strange about the # and b notation.  Not sure if it's a bug or just an undocumented feature.  Submit a bug report and Rej will probably clear things up (he won't necessarily read this thread).

@paulovski Sorry, yes.  You certainly deserve credit for the preset idea, although I usually stick with the 85 note preset as it's not much bigger.

And, nowadays, more people

And, nowadays, more people find the pcm a bit easier to use than they used to. So it's all good. The whole idea of that preset was 'adapt to most likely scenario'. I'm most unlikely to need 85 samples. 20's a bit more average for me, so 2 octaves gives me a few spare, just in case. If Bonkhead's average is more like 30, a 3 octave version would generally cover him. I have 'play once mode' versions and 'note on/off mode' versions, knowing I could well need one or the other. And, if they don't get in the way, then a few dozen tiny samples aren't exactly gonna break the bank. Though they can occasionally get in the way. Certain dual pcm setups played via modsynth input modules can suffer from note stealing. If it happens, you just have to delete the offending, note clashing blanks.

Heheh you haven't dived much

Heheh you haven't dived much in my Classic Builderz packs eh?   Many of those had 30+ samples for each preset....

I did, but I normally always

I did, but I normally always start from scratch unless it's one of my own presets. I know that's unusual these days, haha.
I'll look into this, it's not only importing but also all the settings that need to be the same.
Replacing might be faster indeed.

@edgey ... No it's not a bug

@edgey ... No it's not a bug , it was just me being dim, I just worked it out whilst trying to replicate it before bothering Rej...  The _C1 etc note named and zipped samples auto span the keyboard aok.. The root notes are all absolutely correct it's just that they span the octave half up and half down.. Like any sensible sample would! :)  so the start and end keys are never the note you name them...  Caustic is more intelligent than me!

have not checked any # or b naming yet...

Zip not working for me. In

Zip not working for me. In the PCM when I press and hold the Sample button to import a sample it doesn't see the zip file. When I go to the main page where the file Save, Save As etc. are and try to Import or Load a zip they don't work either
