Hello everyone! I found out how to use Caustic in Logic as an external MIDI device. I guess this would work on other DAWs and operating systems as well but I did this with OS X and Logic Pro.
First, you need a desktop version of Caustic, Soundflower installed on your computer and Logic Pro. First go to your system settings and choose soundflower as the main output device. Then in Logic create an external MIDI track and choose Caustic as an output and soundflower's stereo input as an audio input. Create MIDI sequences in Logic and set the sounds in Caustic. Have fun!
Can this work in REAPER?
I see no reason why it wouldn't. It's been a long time since I used Reaper last time, but you have to make it send MIDI out from Reaper to Caustic and then you need some virtual audio interface that you use to route sound from Caustic back to Reaper. I don't know how to exactly do it with Reaper, but maybe these will help:

If you are using Windows, I don't know any virtual interfaces for it, but I know there are some. I guess you have to set it as your systems preference, because there is no other way to make Caustic to use it, I guess. And then in Reaper set that virtual one as an input and your real interface as an output.
