Keep it up. There is a couple things you need to cover to get better.
First tip: adding little reverb to subbass can, and will cover the low end.
Second thing: eq your mashine slots. This can give you a lot more than just space, it can show you precisly what sound do you need on that zone of a keyboard, to be simple, boost the volume with eq, rather then lowering volume on the mixer ( that could work in early 60s ) but today is almost not acceptable. This is the trick : boost the wolume of mashine on a mixer to max, lower all noobs of eq to zero.
Boost the volume with eq.
Dont boost it to max of course, rellay on your kick.
