Tranquility Of Space

Caustic Song file (optional):

I hope you enjoy this addendum to my trance collection - It's been far too long since my last track, but I want to make it up by contributing once again to Caustic's trance community.

As usual, the caustic file is available to download for those interested.

thanks

Long time no see mniip! (I was wondering the other day, where you'd got to) You always manage capture that late 90's/early 00's trance sound so perfectly, and this is no exception. Your tracks make me feel nostalgic listening to them, even though I'm hearing them for the very first time! Great work, I'll now have a peek at the Caustic file to see how you achieved this!

Edit: Having looked at the file I'm blown away by how professional this sounds with relatively few insert effects used, I guess that's a testament to how good your mixing & production skills are. Do you use reference track(s) for mixing out of interest? And if so, any favourites? (Love that 'Euphoric' Subsynth preset by the way - is that your own creation?)

Hey, thank you for your kind

Hey, thank you for your kind complements! It means very much to mesmiley For reference tracks - I'm always listening to trance on di.fm/trance or /epicrtrance when I'm on my computer  or just getting lost in youtube playlists of classic compilations such as Euphoria - which features many legendary artists such as Chicane, Solarstone, and Ferry Corsten,to name a few off the top of my head - all of which have been a great inspiration ever since I first heard them at a young age and for me I can also relate alot of nostalgia for. Personal favorites:

 Solarstone: Seven Cities,

Chicane - Saltwater,

Ferry Corsten - Beautiful,

Tom Cloud - Told You so,

Basic Perspective - Small step on the other side

Aside from the mainstream artists of trance, I quite enjoy the works of SoundLift who has produced some of the most emotional trance I've ever heard. Give "Empty Night Street" a listen, and if you have time, listen to the awesome Daniel Kandi remix of it - This was the first song I heard on di.fm/trance and it has stuck with me ever since.

...And if you're still looking for some great tunes, check out Sundriver who produces some great balearic-esque trance that really captures the more laid back and relaxing side of trance - "City Lights" being my favorite.

Definitely give a listen to the ones you've not heard, as I'm sure you've heard a few of them alreadycheeky

As for that subsynth patch - Yes it is my preset - nothing too complex, its just a supersaw that uses a square wave as a foundation to give a rounder sound. I mixed 2 of those together with slightly different parameter values to give a better stereo emphasis. The square/saw combo is used alot for most of my lead sounds.

Of the 5 tracks you've listed

Of the 5 tracks you've listed, I love the top 3 (Have been to see Ferry Corsten a couple of times at the same club actually, and both nights were pretty epic!) Not so familiar with the last two mind you, I'll have to take a listen to those and the others you've mentioned. A few favourites of mine from that era are:

Three Drives on a Vinyl - Greece 2000

Delerium feat. Sarah McLachlan - Silence

Paul Oakenfold - Southern Sun

Rank 1 - Airwave
