Any tips on what to do when stuck on a song? When I say stuck, I don't mean the song is done, but you still feel its missing something. I mean when you start something great, but have no idea on how to keep the creativity flowing. Producers block... Personally, i like to get inspiration from other great songs, then i go back to my song with fresh ideas.

You could try saving a secondary file for radical ideas or even a whole new tune in the same key, so that any ideas you like the sound of can be easily transferred. If you are really stuck, dont worry, it aint going anywhere and no one can steal it from you. Just start another project and periodically revisit it to see if anything comes to you.

Yea i agree with Alexei........if I get stuck sometimes I'll have a look to see what other so called abandoned caustic tracks I have but got stuck on & see if there's anything that might fit well and merge them together to create one track.........sometimes it gives fresh ideas for the new project, takes it in a new direction and means the old projects don't go to waste
I've been stuck on the same track for the past month. There is a certain sound I'm aiming for that no matter how hard I try to get right I just can't get it. I think the problem is I'm trying to make the sound with a synth but I think I need a real guitar. Time to break out my classical guitar and hit the record button.
