Device to Device preset transfer

I may be stating the obvious but one of the great things about preset sharing on the Forum is that you can also use it as a kind of Dropbox alternative for transferring presets between your own devices.

So if for example you prefer building PCM or Beatbox presets on your PC, (and let's face it, it is easier ) once you've finished building you simply post it on the Forum and it becomes immediately available to any other compatible device that you might want to save it to. Of course it also becomes available for other users to download which can give you a sort of warm, fuzzy feeling inside.....heart

Obviously you need a wifi internet connection for this! (Now I AM stating the obvious!)

Are you talking about a

Are you talking about a device to device preset sharing via the Caustic App?  I ask this, because, although there are alot of presets of all types on this forum, there are many more out there on the market, paid and free, that are not hosted here.

If you purchase a pack from GPS and download it to your phone for example, you should be able to go back with your tablet and download it again (using your same google account of course) free because you already paid before....

I keep mine backed up on my phone, home workstation pc , and tablet via USB.    Some like-branded android devices will share content between the two of them internally (I think the Galaxy S3 is one of them that showcases that feature)

Another way to exchange

Another way to exchange presets and other files between your Android Caustic an Windows version is to use Air droid. You can have access to your phone's content in your browser.

Ha!  I'm old school I guess, I plug my devices into my desktop and share and backup what I need to...... not as much as I should, I have enormous amounts of sample recordings and audio data for my project here, that I should have backed up ---- yikes

I guess I'm too wary of open wireless connections to my androids other than secured router-protected WiFi..... but that's just me

synchronization

BTW: It would be great to have some kind of automatic sync between all my devices (smartphone, tablet, desktop) while I'm working on a song project! (e. g. via Google Drive or Dropbox)

I remember some months back,

I remember some months back, Mike S was mentioning something like this will be possible in the CausticCore future..... hang tight...blush

BTW, if you've downloaded any Caustic Content Packs from any of us providers  here, you can simply copy the APK to your other device and extract the goods to it as well...

I'm new to this forum, and

I'm new to this forum, and might have missed this somewhere...but... I have just downloaded a good number of presets from the site, and I'd like to get them on my tablet. Computer is Windows Vista (SP2)...Tablet is Nexus 7 running Android 4.4.4. They aren't talking with each other even though I have the USB from the tablet plugged in. Any suggestions on how to get the presets from the computer to the tablet would be appreciated!

Thanks

Ok...different tact... I have downloaded the Windows version of Caustic 3.1. On my tablet I have eight or nine sample packs, SPP, EIP, Silver Box, etc. Am I able to get those sounds/presets for the Windows version of Caustic?

Thanks again

I strongly recommend you get

I strongly recommend you get that data-connection working, it's probably just missing or bad drivers on your computer.

If that doesn't work you could look at some FTP apps. I have a free one named "Ftp server" and it works just great.

Thanks for the suggestions...

Thanks for the suggestions....I figured it out. The tablet has Google Driver on it. I just uploaded all the sounds I wanted, and downloaded them to my computer...and saved them on a flash. Now when I install Caustic 3.1 on my other computer used for production, I can just copy them into the various folders. I guess I have to do things the hard way...at first..! Thanks again
