I saw this guy on YouTube and he done some crazy modular tricks and he made a Compresor in modular.
Real modular compresor present. Is that possible on caustic?
Can I build my own Compresor using a modular?
Only by using the InsertEffects post-modular signal output......
Otherwise, there is no module here that can do that...... other than maybe multi-band feeds into multiple Saturators, but then again, the compression effect would be mild (if you want a clean sound to pass through)
The guy in the video makes good points about utility modules. There's a whole load of simple components (e.g. inverter) that could be added to extend the abilities of the modular. Obviously not for v3.2 though.
I make creative EDM utilising Caustic and many other Daws. See for yourself on my SoundCloud, you may like it :) https://soundcloud.com/xandyaudio thanks!
Sure give it a shot, but I'll bet you anything it's not feasibly possible within the Modular Synth in itself.
Only exception is to "fake it" using an ADSR with a very fast D, to approx 50% S and moderate R (for host synth signal tail) but this would trigger per note played not per exceeded-threshold transient attack.
Not really a comp, but ADSR can act like dynamic processor, a sort of BBE. With only one knob moving (attack), you can emphase attack or squash it. And also add some cool module in the path...
Plug-in all your machine inputs into mixers until it is one mixer output per modular. (Only works with about 10 inputs per modular, just enough actually)
Plug-in all three mixers into a state variable filter per modular.
Have the output signal be LP (Lowpass) and plug into l/R or just left.
Now you have modular outputs that can have separate compression effects and settings.
For example, slide mixer settings freq knobs high/mid to absolute 0 for the bass modular.
Do the same to the rest for what they are.
Your 3-band compression output is ready to go. (Unless modular still makes things mono, it is probably not going to work out well.)
LFO? Why? What he describes here is a simple multi band compressor (3 band). The actual compression take place in the fx slot of each modular. The modulars themselves only split the frequencies. Skarabee made a tutorial on the topic and you find it if you search the forums...
I'll just throw this in there, because of the first order style rolloff of most of the filters here, especially in the modular, a dual-band compressor setup as described above will yield the best overall tone...... going tri-band will introduce phase issues that you may or may not intend to happen
An fx chain yea sure. But i think u askin' something different. I'm not sure.

Simple answer: no not at this time
Thanks for feedback

My Soundcloud profile is _dredge_
I will try this later!
I bet there must be a way, I'm 50% sure.

the songfile plays: dry/squashed/emphase
Caustic Song file (optional):
Hey phorsion can send a songfile of this idea..
I bet that LFO has huge part in this..

Nevermind what I say. I'm done with tips... ;.)
Yes you are right Pan65
LFO dont belong here..
