Caustic Song file (optional):
I started this in Jan-15, thought 'wow, this sounds great. Huge sounds, it'll be my best track this year, hands down'.
I finally finished it in November-15 :(

I don't know if this is your best ever (you've made some really good ones over the years) but it's definitely up there among your greatest. Love this one James.
thanks to you and Gajoga- it's really appreciated. It's genuinely 10 months late. I could have released a mix in February that would sound the same now as then. There's nothing from 3.2 used in this mix, I just got lost and forgot how to bring things to a close.
Confidence is a trick or is it a gift?

Diggin' this tune a lot, and yes it is a huge track, just caught it on SC half a hour ago, I don't know about confidence being a trick or a gift, but I do believe music is a gift, so cheers to you for sharing it...nice one

Wow, Show and Tell is so busy the half life of a tune is about 4 hours

Yep..it is...and I like it. I heared this track many times...
I'm trying to get out of my brain of what it's reminding me...
these snares sounding so familiar to me.
Some 70's instrumental synthie wave song ... but I can't get it out. :)

Thanks EKT this was bothering me to. Haven't listened to Alan Parson in a very long time.
I have been listening to Pink Floyd so maybe the subsynth patches may have a touch of Dark Side of the Moon/Wish You Were Here or earlier...

and my brothers had a few Alan Parsons Project LPs so the connection does run deep

Great tune James! Some nice big sounds in there. I know where you're coming from about struggling to get things finished...
mindfool
Sad isn't it, and you're the king of the 2 minute epic too!
I had The Orbit in Leeds and the Que club in B'ham in mind when I wrote this - big clubs that were packed every weekend. 2000 people dancing to techno
Kinda sad things have moved on but change is inevitable...

Yet again, you make me want to punch a candy kid and give them a bracelet to remember it by. Great work! *rolls up sleeves*

Wow that is a nice chord progression in your intro segment.
FWIW, I've been really diggin' the N9 -- the thing is a beast, and eats everything I feed it, and loading up heavy DSP-heavy methods in Caustic all runs well with no hiccups, OPENESL and Minimum latency, even with MIDI gear attached
Nice piece as always
Ha ha, thanks Jason
Yup, the N9 is good to great but the heat stops me from calling it great. And yes,I love the track - more for the drums than the chords, but without the chords the drums wouldn't have anything to cling to

Very nice, I might have to poke it with a stick.

Thanks folks, I know there's a ton of things I could do - the Bassline is just screaming out for some automation and the chord change in the middle is a little clunky.
Farley - I love the drums on this one, 4 to the floor as normal but with some Hawtin style splashy 808 snares, again I dragged a few notes slightly off grid to make it sound a little less robotic.
