(Finished) The Proper Remix of Forget by Szmata Czasu.... Bangin Clubby Track

Or to give it the proper title of:
DJ Szmata Czasu- Forget (Alexi Bourdan's Dopamine Remix)

Not to be confused with the Serotonin Remix from last week, this is a total contrast, being a more clubby remix than the dubbish Serotnin Remix.

Having the ability to apply fx direct to individual samples made a huge difference to the production of this tune, as did the Merge Rack feature, allowing me to come up with that fantastic ghostly sounding synth running through the tune (merging a padsynth and a sawsynth). I will be posting that preset shortly.

As always, huge thanks to Szmata for lettng me work on this. This is the version I had in my head when I heard the awesome original.

Hope you enjoy and as always, any comments, good or bad are encouraged.

Sounding good, you've taken

Sounding good, you've taken out most of the dub elements giving it a more clubby feel, great fx use, so will follow progress

Cheers dude. Szmata's

Cheers dude. Szmata's original is really uplifting, so the dub version was really flipping it on it's head whereas this version is a more faithful remix, keeping the sentiment intact.
I had to change the title of the post cos I think people might think it's the dub version. That's the serotonin remix and this one is the dopamine remix. That'll learn me for naming two totally different tunes after brain chemicals lol

From Psychology Today -

From Psychology Today -

Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that helps control the brain's reward and pleasure centers. Dopamine also helps regulate movement and emotional responses, and it enables us not only to see rewards, but to take action to move toward them. Dopamine deficiency results in Parkinson's Disease, and people with low dopamine activity may be more prone to addiction. The presence of a certain kind of dopamine receptor is also associated with sensation-seeking people, more commonly known as "risk takers."

Just a thought, working well then...lol...

Wow the sound and that kind

Wow the sound and that kind of playfulness from right ear to left ear. The panning was great. I like also that some kind of padsynth type of sound with a delay attack. The vibe was absolutely fun. This track is sick. :)

I think the "pad" is the high

I think the "pad" is the high string note running through the second half?
If so, its a sawsynth with pattern automation on the volume to mimic a compressor effect.
But thank you for the comments.
Autopan is such a gift, as are all the changes in 3.2.
And the tune is so much fun. I'm having a lit of fun just tweaking and playing about with it. . What I've posted so far its up to the "mini drop" (the first drop, byt not the main one.
I'm actually just done with the main drop and tweaking the main part, and building the last part. Should be couple days and done

Hats off buddy. I'm not

Hats off buddy. I'm not saying this just because I had a honour of having my tune remixed by you again. You made it as I would make it, if I had more imagination, skillz, motivation, time, etc. wink

As I wrote in the e-mail - first time I heard it I seriously had to control myself to not shed a tear (ok, maybe I shed a half of it wink), especially when the drop comes with the beautiful piano chords. It killed me instantly smiley

Thanks again for your huge effort mate!

Great finished piece, and

Great finished piece, and just a quick one, the sounds and fx used to great effect, and will pick up that preset when you've posted it, brill. I'm not naive and not a youngster on the block, but still amazed at why you are not successful in the commercial world with your music, it sounds as if it would go down a storm in the clubs, anyway great track

That means a lot Wells, so

That means a lot Wells, so thanks for the feedback. I still feel I got a long way to go to hit professional standard. I'm proud of what I make, but the techniques used by some of my idols are just breathtaking and heartbreaking at the same time lol.
Here are the presets I made to create that ghostly synth sound at the quiet part and through the build up. The first one is a subsynth classic trance style pluck sound that was designed to go with the second preset, which is the padsynth and sawsynth merged.
I used some light reverb and some delay on them, and when played together, I think they sound beautiful. I should post more presets. As should we all. Hope you make use of them.

Well I've been around long

Well I've been around long enough to know it takes more than talent to make it, but I hear people using caustic, yourself included, and not only people using caustic, ive seen and heard musicians during my lifetime that I've thought are great, but for one reason or another don't make it. so really it's a bit of a lottery...anyway cheers for the presets will get onto that, I do have a habit of downloading peoples presets and then tinkering a bit, so will probably do the same...lol...

Cheers dude. Probably the

Cheers dude. Probably the first tune where nothing was a chore to do. Not to say it was easy, but more like a tough video game that's awesome, so you dont mind dying lol.
