Re: PCM Sample Speed vs Pitch

Hi,

I took a quick look in the forum, and didn't find an answer to this. I've tried to create some PCM presets using an LFO or ARP. After I've loaded a sample the rate of playback goes up as I progress up the keyboard. Is there a way for Caustic to act similar to say Kontakt, and play a higher pitch without increasing the speed of playback. I've noticed some commercial presets are capable of doing this...what am I missing?

Thank you!!

Pitch = Speed for PCMSynth...

Pitch = Speed for PCMSynth...  there is no active sample speed control or granulating synthesis available at this time.   I have made presets that do simulate what you're talking about in Kontakt and Absynth and other GranSynths  (these type presets are scattered throughout my content packs available for Caustic)

However, in the Advanced Waveform Editor in the upcoming 3.2 App update, you can utilize the Stretch Effect and actually change the tempo of a sample and maintain its base pitch...

But that's another thread (look in the Caustic 3.2 Testing Forum)

Thanks Jason. The commercial

Thanks Jason. The commercial presets I was talking about are from your library! Glad to hear a stretch effect is coming. In Builderz you've designed some "Modular" ARP's using the Machine Input that keep what ever BPM is set, no matter where one plays on the keyboard. I'll wait for 3.2 to try to design....

Thanks again!!

Guess I was making things

Guess I was making things difficult in my initial explanation. Basically was looking for a way to sync tempo within PCM. Similar to any VST instrument syncing to the host BPM.
