'Cutover' - new Caustic 3.2 beta and Mastering App v1.0 track

Caustic Song file (optional):

Morning All, a new track that's both my first track with the latest Caustic Beta and with the new Mastering App. I'm probably guilty of accidentally entering the loudness wars, the final mix needs some tweaking but overall I'm pretty pleased with it.

*Caustic file added to post*

I poked at the SongFile, and

I poked at the SongFile, and did a EIPSO 15 Minute Mix and "Master".....

I did rebuild your kick drum in your first BeatBox, and gave it some authority for your song.

Very groovy, I like it.......

Nice James!

Nice James!

My only bitch, :) is the rolling bassline is taking up to much mid frequencies and not enough bass. hehe Your 303 bassline(mid) is clashing with it's frequencies.

So, the track feels like it has to much mid frequencies for the dynamics you gave it.

Peace brotha!

Hi everyone *waves* - and

Hi everyone *waves* - and thanks, I'm rusty and I can tell that I'm rusty, but yeah, it's not bad for my first effort in a while laugh

Jason - thanks for giving it a polish, looking forward to giving it a spin tonight.

Work has been a little too much over the last few months, hopefully it's going to ease off now that a few things have landed. Strayed into System testing / Unit testing / UAT on a custom built SAS solution that's made up of various SAS modules, interesting but the pressure and workload has been a little relentless especially during the cold and dark winter months! Not writing SQL yet - using the query builder tools in Enterprise Guide and sometimes dropping the data into excel when I want an answer 'now' but trying to learn to work within the E2E SAS toolset - Mike will understand all of this much better than me smiley

I think the waveform and speed on the LFO on the rolling / arp'ing Modular, need tweaking, there's a mismatch that bothers me, especially when the arp is solo'd. The arp speed is okay, it's the modulation that feels 'off' (I think), believe the LFO modulates the FM and Feedback on the FM pair module but haven't looked at the back to remind myself how the patch was constructed for a few days.

I think I over did a few things in the Mastering App too - the midrange and highs feel too bright, and in your face, I'm already on a second / third mixdown / master since I uploaded this one, and yup, the bass and drums are a bit suffocated and lacking in depth...still a kicking track though laugh

That LFO's in note sync off

That LFO's in note sync off mode. There's no phase lock in that mode so the modulation will drift each time you play it.

 thanks, I thought that

yes thanks, I thought that sometimes it sounded pretty awesome, and off on other occasions, but assumed that was just the effect of listening to it at different times of day, in different rooms, before and after work.

I'm already working on a new mix so will try and see if it's better with note sync on.

Well give it a whirl. The

Well give it a whirl. The phase is stable, but that second note wil retrigger it.
