My World Is Shaking (ft. Ellie Madison)

Caustic Song file (optional):

As a 90's kid, I grew up influenced by Third Eye Blind, Nine Days, Michelle Branch, etc... So I kind of tested what this app can do. I watched YouTube videos and read online guides and this is the result. I gotta say, Caustic is more complicated than it lets on. My first post, by the way. This is a very nice community. Lots of talents.

Edit: Modified to slightly lean over alternative/pop/rock.

Please comment what you think to help me improve as a Caustic user and as musician. Thanks! :p

Edit: I finally found time working on this more. Reworked the rhythm guitar and added a lead to fill in the gap between the first and second verse. Also added a fade in guitar effect to get rid of the sudden bang.

I also updated the caustic file so if you wanna download it and dissect, be my guest. :)

My EIPSO 15 Minute Mix......

My EIPSO 15 Minute Mix...... I would really want to sit down for hours to really rebuild this, but this is a start.

Again, nice arrangement, fun track indeed.

Thanks so much for the

Thanks so much for the feedback. As soon as I get home, I'll check out your version.

Please, dissect it. Do whatever you want with it. I'm sure you can do way better music from this. I'm just trying out Caustic because the app is very rare. I've found beatbox generators, drum emulators, Audio Evolution, etc.. but so far I love the power of Caustic. I'm still too far behind my learning curve but I like the sounds you can produce with it. You can go from natural to the most eccentric sounds and tunes.

There seems to be some problems loading your .caustic file. My app doesn't load it.

Edit: Nevermind.I've managed to load it. Wow. Sounds more balanced with all the highs. Thank for this.

There were some challenges,

There were some challenges, mainly due to the quality of the original samples, but there are still ways to make it work.   If I had more time, I would tear the whole thing apart, but time was scarce for me this week, and I try to keep my personal rule to do a EIPSO 15 Minute Mix session for tracks like this.

I was initially suprised by the use of just 2 BeatBoxes for your drum track, I thought at first you had a few loops running or that you created and just ran them in the PCMSynth or something, but you actually made it happen in the BB's and it fit your track well.

Again, nice work, I'm looking forward to hearing more from you.   "Hybrid" multi-tracking.....  Caustic works very well for projects of this type.

Having only 2 beatboxes kept

Having only 2 beatboxes kept the process simple. I was still learning to use the app.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll surely be doing something more because I'm learning a lot doing stuff like these. Used to work using Cakewalk, Sonar etc but mostly using samples and VERY minimal midi instruments. Caustic is something else. I love it.

Here's my EIPSO 15 Minute Mix

Here's my EIPSO 15 Minute Mix Session for this piece -- I forgot to update it here, this is a fun project you've got going on here.

It proves that "audio tracking" is possible in Caustic right now, and these methods work well.

I love that it sounds live

I love that it sounds live and the thick reverb is just right. I also love the fade out in the end. Been trying out different approaches on ending it but a simple fade out seems to work well.

Caustic overdrive DSP has a

Caustic overdrive DSP has a unique character for sure, so the fade out reaction is a bit different and perhaps more difficult to achieve, so I had to go a two-pronged approach on it.

I actually revisited the Caustic file that I worked on before and did another 15 minute job on it..... I'm still not happy with the tonal character in the end, but I did not take it into Mastering at this time..... the audio quality of some of the tracking samples seems to be somewhat off, so that may play a role into my difficulties here.

However I think I got a decent mix in the end, for what it's worth, and gave this production a nice vibe.

I hope to hear more arrangements like this from you in the future, your integration of audio tracking samples and Caustic synth instruments and drums fits together very nicely.

@Jason Oh, you used the

@Jason Oh, you used the Mastering app. That's why it sounded much better. I'm still trying to figure out my way through Caustic. Lol Been experimenting on new things. I don't have an electric guitar now and recording from an acoustic guitar doesn't give me the sustain I want. I've watched more of your videos (EIP's) including guitar modeling. Looks dope. I've also been listening to more rock music and been trying to replicate the sound in Caustic to learn more. The filter settings in PCMSynth can really do wonders. You can already make the guitar sound interesting even before you add effects to it.

@ezell Thanks, man. When I find time, I'll do more. Yes, it does sound like an opening for a sitcom, eh. Lol

Sitcom, my butt! This sounds like a legitimate demo for a band that could go places, and should. This is good music. Post a link to buy it, and it's bought. Thank you very much for posting the .caustic file!

https://www.youtube.com/watch

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gM7HD0Kdf-E Hey TriggerHappy, I might be sticking my neck out a bit but I like your version, It has a slightly rawer sound, more of a small room live sound, no disrespect to Jason, his version is undoubtedly a polished sound, more studio finished, but there are a lot of elements in your version which to me are very nice. The organ parts remind me a little of a track by a guy called Money Mark, did some work with the Beastie Boys, put a youtube link to a track called  Tomorrow will be like today, if you are interested to hear what i mean. Anyway good track, really good

Thanks!

Thanks!

Yeah, there are some similarities with the track in your link. What I did at the time was I just selected a preset called "Booker T" and tweaked it a bit and came up with what I have now. Jason is obviously an organ player. His organ track is more "solid" than mine and it went well with the whole track.
