Yeah, I have a way to record Caustic's audio byte stream during a session and save it to wav as well.
Patients for my apps is going to pay off. There is one bug I need Rej to fix before I can do any testing but I rewrote my project framework due to not wanting a certain binary format I was using, that took 3 weeks on and off.
Caustic Guide, the templating app that will create .caustic files and library items for Caustic Remix is getting damn close, I totally redid the UI to work on tablets and phones with portrait and landscape, that took weeks also. (I'm using the side draw navigation pattern with bottom action bar buttons now).
And well Android 6 with MIDI, hehe that has taken up my last couple days! I got USB working with my daws and am able to control my apps with the Push and Keylab.
nice im excited for caustic live, i found this old dual deck and ive just been making whatever then ill feed it back into digital eventually, my tablet crashed so i deleted disabled everything now after a headache of restoring it is strictly my caustic go to lol.
been on a 1950s tambla jazz darkwave downtempo thing lately
> If it supports Push, will it also support the Launchpad?
Yeah it would. The Push Just sends and receives CC and note message. Each button sends a CC and the knobs and such. I can also talk to the display with SysEx, this is the Push1. I helped write the Push4Bitwig controller script so I know exactly how it works.
There are a bunch of scripts for Bitwig so, I can easily look at the launchpad one to figure out it's protocal and get it to work as well.
im really considering an ipad, just for the apps and third party midi contoller docks alone, even though hardware is kinda yesterday, i still want to at least try the new electribe its funny though that the emx is still holding a 450$ price tag and the new one you can get for 300 or less used.
@ bitterdawin.... idk about your choice of tablets.
but aaahhhmmmmm..... pawnshop. u can find a decent tab 3 or a lg pad layin' around $100 with layaway u can't beat multiple tablets onna budget.
yea.... the price of a brand spanking new one!!! come on!! do u really trust the companies dat push out drones of product by cargo plane loads in millions????
i don't. and for the my own work with caustic i gotta about six.
two for cause beta. 2 for caustic official release. and 2 more on reserve as backup for caustic.
considering i got all my other music apps running either on a beta tablet or official release tablet.... not good. i need 7th tablet for dat....
cause once u build a working set-up its about going out sharin' it with others on what u find as the most stable.
oh i wouldnt buy one new lol, heard the galaxy tab a is decent for 100$
right now i have a tablet with everything disabled besides caustic i leave it at the tablet as a go to source.
but i have a problem with forking out cash for midi controllers, just feel like im getting ripped off, when i could spend 100$ more and get a tabletop synth lol.
the only midi controllers i have considered have been the korg nanos because of the price and they seem solid.
just got the full version for Android and its going great. I would say my Android tablet is pretty low end (newish) but its running great. (Galaxy Tab A). May get a new one with bigger screen soon because of Caustic being awesome.
I read this thread and was wondering about the same thing. Is CausticLive or CausticRemix coming out soon? I think Caustic stands on its own as a great studio or potentially live tool, but the thought of CausticLive in the works definitely made me more interested.
If the development of CausticLive is hard to complete, I thought of an easier alternative that could be useful and just built into Caustic, without many changes to the code. (I'm currently programming some custom use for the Novation Launchpad Pro)
I'm glad I'm bot the only one doing this. I'm used to playing live in a set room or soot. But I've recently started messing with synthwave. Karl got me hooked on basically any song he puts out. I'm realizing I need to work on my songs separately than my sounds. That way I can focus on my music. But sometimes you want to make adjustments or replacenents and the next thing you know it's 4 hours later and you are in disbelief of the actual time. And the next thought is I need another 4 hours at least. Caustic has been amazing. The members and support is truly humbling. So thanks to everyone. I'm still trying to find the black pcm synth I see a lot. Anyone have a link? Sorry I should have asked that in a separate post. Talk with ya later. I gotta go meet Synthia
with external recorder
Sounds like what Mike is doing with CausticLive.

Controlling Caustic with Modstep is pretty cool. Clip launching, CC's, variable steps per pattern etc. Worth checking it out if you are using iOS.

Where are you seeing the black pcm? Videos on YouTube? My guess is it is either the blackbox or AI skin.
