Thanks J. First attempt at d

Thanks J. First attempt at something d'n'b sounding :) Took a shortcut and used a loop, with a couple of fx added.

Think the breakbeats should maybe be more varied for true d'n'b. I shifted mid tone (and bass tone near the end) to try and make it more dynamic sounding.

Nice trick you did there.

Nice trick you did there.   Yeah the ting I learned from the Jungle and DNB, is learning the creative skill of taking even a single short break and making a wide variety of beats and effects out of it.   The Amen break for example has been chopped and mutilated thousands and thousands of ways, and it all sounds so much different from each other..... but then add in the other lesser-known but well-used breaks (think, apache, let a woman be, inspiration, cold sweat etc...etc...) and mix it all up in creative ways, keeps it interesting as opposed to old school "hardcore" and rave, by simply playing a loop over and over and over and just jamming other synth samples and other sounds with it.

I have scores of breaks of many types that I have broken down into element-bites, all tempo sync'd ready to use for my tracks if I'm in the jungle/dnb mood.  So I can create from scratch my own breaks and loops, and make it any way I want.
