I know! It's not easy to keep my project directories nice and tidy with all the old tracks, but what worked for me is to just throw all old unfinished tracks into an "archive" folder instead of deleting them. Then I still can dig them out again to dust them off, and maybe finally finish the whole thing.

I tend to create variations of the same tune, suffixed with roman numerals. These variations may usually differ from one another in terms of which presets or samples they employ, tempo, melody or harmonic structure, or almost any other attribute. They're kind of like branches which shoot off in different directions from the same baseline. However, the scheme described in that video seems a bit more refined and elaborate. Preserving old song files is definitely a good idea, though. You never really know when the spark of inspiration might set your mind ablaze, animating and invigorating an old song (or just a piece of it) which felt so pale and unassuming earlier.
Mannn.... With what Mr. Mike's got going....... We gonna be all brand new producers. Two where we all we have alot More success with our trks including Mr. Rob. And Mr. Mek.
We all got strengths of talent.
If we throw Anythang away we hurt ourselves. Dat's terrible.
this weekend I am creating a lot more videos and I will post on this site, but this was explaining something to beta testers of Caustic Guide.
Excuse the left only channel, I didn't realize my map to mono to both channels didn't take before I uploaded it. This can give you a glimpse of why having a bunch of old projects might come in handy, stay tuned for more in depth videos, this only scratches the surface of what is possible.
LOL I get it now. House is music and Garage is that other music I don't make much, but in the sense that they are material/objects large things. I didn't realize it was a joke. xD
I knew there was a major reason for 3 or more beatboxes inna caustic file I just never knew how two express such impact as a technical aspect.
But now....such does make it easier and more roomy with more freedom of free flow of ideas. And how u isolate....
I think even a Mr. Rob Farley or Mr. Mekanism trk can be flip around quite nicely cause I think both guys over engineer each sound and they have a bangin' sound.
But u guys lose artistic feel alot too quick. For what u guys want.
My person admits I struggle with stayin' with the same idea.
But If I am I'm a session with someone.... I lose my mind and I just structure a gm pcm ( anybody's design it don't matter.
And 2 to 3 gearboxes later my drums have harmony. Most don't!!!
And caustic does very well bringin' melody in the forefront as well with the drums. Instead drums just being only ryhthm!!!
Absolutely! This track was effectively about a year in production based on the file create date!
My latest track on show and tell

Noisia? Is that some DAW I've never heard of?
...oh, and - delete unfinished projects? Who does that?
Noisia - 3 man drum n bass from the Netherlands.
The music may not be to everyone's taste, but the efforts they put into sound design should be commended by all.

Noisia is a SUPERNATURAL VITAMIN that takes you on the best neurofunk or mainly dnb adventure of your life.
Take some Noisia and you'll feel energized.
If that's not good enough to you, take some rawstyle or go on the rawstyle diet and you'll be stronger.
If you don't want to feel stronger, but want to feel the serotonin production in your head take some Hardstyle.
Overall I think it's best to take some Noisia. The others may give muscle spasms around the body/head lol.
the sheer existence of someone not knowing noisia here is quite the surprise for me :D
anyway pretty much all of my projects are unfinished so of course I'm not deleting them either :(

I'm not plugged into the scene. I can barely tell house from trance.
Mike, thanks for the video! Just what I needed!!
I used to have difficulty telling the difference between House and Garage. Now I know not to park the car in the front room.
