Fall (Andrulian's Echoes in Time Remix)

Hi Everyone,

Due to various reasons, I've not been around much lately, have a lot of catching up to do!

This is a track I produced in part using the Coolooloosh 'Elements of Sound' sample pack.  I've used the vocal samples and Rhodes loop from the song 'Fall'.  (There is a video of the original on Youtube at http://youtu.be/JwhtHd2fZ0Y )  All other sounds created by me in a variety of VSTIs apart from the drum sounds which are samples from a Roland MC505 and have been EQ'd.

Unusually for me, it's not ambient.  I've changed the tempo from 71 bpm to 130 bpm and created a progressive house track.  Any comments gratefully received...

Do you have an MC505?

Do you have an MC505?

I'm in the process of making an album slowly with an MC505, Korg EMX1 and my caustic core synths(apps).

I love the old groovboxes.

As far as the track, love it. It definitly feels like old school house with the pads in their for atmoshpere.

Thanks for the comments.

Thanks for the comments.

Sadly I don't have a real MC505, I found the samples online somewhere and really liked them and use them pretty much all the time.

I EQ'd them thinking it wouldn't make much difference but it definitely does.  I now see why one of my mates doesn't use samples and creates all his own sounds as it gives him control over what instruments sit in which frequency ranges.

I also see why he creates the songs and leaves mastering/production to one of his mates. It's a complete skill in itself.

The vocals were part of the sample pack, I just chopped them up a bit and changed tempo in Audacity. There were guitar loops and some drum loops for that song but once I got the groove I kept the use of samples fairly minimal as I didn't think they fitted in.

Coolooloosh were very generous in giving away the sample pack - it was pretty much the whole of their Elements of Sound album.

See you gotta point there

See you gotta point there about just grabbing samples of the internet.....  most are many-times recycled garbled mess that just doesn't have that flare anymore....  That's why I create mine too.... and share with the world.   MultiSamples that are smoothly processed and EQ, and for the first time EVER, sonically-balanced right out of the box for your Caustic Tracks.
