SubTracked
After barely touching the Subsynth in my previous two tracks, and hearing what others on this forum have been getting out if it (mniip's 'Pulsar' comes to mind) I decided to build a track based around the Subsynths.

This track uses 4 Subsynths in total: 2 to create a stereo effect, 1 bounced down to a .wav sample and used in Beatbox and 1 for the bass.  I then used the Bassline synth for the lead sound, experimenting a lot with the bend function! Finally there are 2 Beatboxes - 1 with and 1 without reverb/delay.

All synth sounds are created from scratch by playing around until I found something I liked, and the drum sounds are various 1 hit samples I have lying around.

I also like the tiny, cheeky flirt with dubstep part way through before you head further into psy-trance territory.

Great track, thanks for sharing the source.

I'm curious as to your workflow for creating the two ARPs and their patterns. Did you create one pattern, copy it over to both then remove half the notes on each one to create the ping-pong effect?

Thanks for all the kind words

Thanks for all the kind words guys. (Yeah, the Bitcrusher is definitely my favourite insert effect!)

Rej - Yes exactly that, after initially creating the pattern on one Subsynth, I thought it could benefit from a stereo effect, so I duplicated the Subsynth and pattern data to a new instrument slot & deleted alternate notes from each pattern

Cheers mniip, glad you approve!

Really looking forward to the automation editor - will be nice to be able to 'see' where/how the automation data has been placed, rather than remembering!

This is great! A very well structured track with great sounds.

I'm glad you've discovered the subsynth. I'm a big proponent of it, it's so versatile and the possibilities are endless!

Nice work! Keep it up!

Thanks bojeroo

Thanks bojeroo

I think I've avoided it in the past due to the fact that you need to spend time creating a sound before you can begin to compose with it (compared to the 'instant' sounds with PCMSynth presets)

However, after reading a few online guides on subtractive synthesis, and spending more time fiddling with it for this track, I can certainly appreciate the potential it has!
