The Mysterious Missing Beat(s)

A while ago I posted the files for a tune I was stuck on, Jason and Danjob both stepped in and did amazing remix stuff and I loved where they took it (it was called Communal btw).

But...one thing I did like in my half finished version was the drums and neither Jason or Danjob used the main Beatbox in their version...so, I've written a new tune purely around the original drumtrack.

I really enjoyed making this :D

yeah, sorry :(

yeah, sorry sad

False promises and all that cheeky

But I have reached a logical end point for now - there's nothing left that I'm desparate to remix and not too many half started tunes either laugh

LOL people.... Every time I hear someone's "last track" I will always see another one next week... you just can't put it down....  Yup me too.

That said, I really like the feel in this track, and choice of sounds... yes the Pizzicatto is a very nice touch in this peice.... Yes and the "jazz perc" organ!  (actually its an 888400000 3rd perc no C/V)  and there is this ringing noise in the background.... I love that... Oh ok, now I get it what it is.... Nice!  But this is fun to listen to.

Ok I'm gonna give this one yescool EIPSO Thumbs Up

Thanks everyone It was good

Thanks everyone laughIt was good to do something totally different to the electronic/techno/IDM sound I tend to focus on.

I was kinding thinking towards the outer edges of rock, things like Can I guess, with the drums, it's the first time i've got close to programming breakbeats. The PCM presets I used were really good quality - there were a couple of packs on Google Play that had some really great samples of orchestral instruments.

Looks like they were the only 2 packs released by them too.

Props to Skarabee as the Beatbox is his Reggae kit (with some samples replaced) and I also used his PCM Dubkit. Oh and also to Jason for the M1 Piano - one of my favourite presets.

The final mix has a lot of automation by my standards too, lots of tweaking levels, EQ and delay to give the mix a bit more movement, partly to disguise the relative lack of a 'song' structure.

And apologies to Rej for setting hares running with my title cheeky

LOL Rej, dropped notes

LOL Rej, dropped notes because his patterns quickly exceeded 8 notes.... (psssst how about 12 notes, with Note Hold Priority?)
