The Bond

Hey guys, here is my first little piece of work made with Caustic 2.1. I really hope you guys like it, and I would love some feedback, especially on the mixing part.

Nice lead theme.

Nice lead theme.

Good mix in the rythmic part, with cool bass sound.

The arpeggios part is interresting too, but the sounds a bit muffled/noisy. Bad quality samples?

Thanks for the feedback! I

Thanks for the feedback! I actually added the noise to it, to give it some more feeling ;-) the sample itself is quite clean

Do you think a more natural sounding guitar would be better?

Hey hey hey!  There is

Hey hey hey!  There is Nothing Wrong with noisy sounds and grtty "not perfect" sounds and samples!  If everything sounds too clean and perfect, then your song sounds sterile and dry.   I hate when studios ruin vocals with Antare's AutoTune or other DSP cuz it makes what could be beautiful natural-sounding vocals sound like robots... such a turn-off for me.  Imperfections in a human voice is what makes it sound so natural and wonderful to me.  Go ahead and laugh, that's my theory.

Doesn't have to always be perfect and clean -- Builderz Extreme proves that theory.

Your sounds are fine.... the guitar leads with their grit, sound good in your track.

Really good song you made

Really good song you made there and I like the sounds you use. The mix is a little low though. I think that’s because your kick is too high producing those peaks. If you separate the bass and kick with EQ you will be able to back them down a bit and they still cut trough. You can also place a compressor on the master channel to push down the peaks a bit. There been some post about these techniques, most of them are in the “Tips and Tricks” area (I think).

Thanks for that comment! I'll

Thanks for that comment! I'll see if I can add an EQ to both of the tracks. As far as I know it's smartest to cut out the lowest frequences in the kicks so that the bass has some more "space". I'll look into that, thank you :) I'll also check out the tips and tricks

I totally agree with you,

I totally agree with you, dirty sounds and rougher edges make music more real to me in some way. Thanks for the feedback. And thanks for all the encouragement. I have some new music at the ready, I'll post it soon.
