Here's a little test I did today with the $129 Apogee Jam which is USB. Phone used for recording was Samsung S6.

I literally plugged it in, opened Caustic, and recorded. No setup, no nothing. The recording was done inside Caustic itself so no extra software needed. I did a little slap bass on my Les Paul and then also dropped it an octave in the editor and used it to double the guitar. From plugging it in to posting it took less than ten minutes, I've included an audio link and the Caustic file.

Still boggles my brain how easy this is compared to the Good Old Days.
