Caustic Song file (optional):
I can't be bothered to keep writing all these notes. Even the arpeggiator's a bit of a chore.
Sample and Hold is my friend.
No new ground here. Just mix the outputs of a few mini LFOs, set to different rates and waveforms. And send the mix output through a S&H module gated with a mini LFO, and send the S&H output to the pitch mod input of your choice. Job done. There are loads of modulation options provided by all those LFOs. There's plenty of room in there for two sequences. Even more cross modulation.
The thing with mini LFOs, compact as they are. It's like herding cats. If you don't retrigger them, every now and again, they just wonder off, do their own thing, and these modsynths would become, somewhat over engineered, random note generators. That defeats the object, really.
And, as the oscillators are getting all the pitch information they need, it seems a shame to waste that, valuable, note CV output. Might have to write some notes for that, but, then, the sequence wouldn't get a chance to run. And, that defeats the object, really.
And mini LFOs don't modulate their own frequency.
Luckily, these days, there is an alternative.
More toys! My paulovski foldsr is growing pretty fast. :-)
:) Is that avatar a live feed from the dashcam?
