The hard drive on my laptop died so when I replaced it I installed Linux Mint for the OS.
I got my audio interface working with Audacity and a piano MIDI recognized in LMMS. I took a look at Hydrogen but it was not immediately intuitive.
Where I have gotten stuck is wanting to (re)build (drum)kits of samples..... This would be for live use with drum triggers.
If any one has any idea what I am describing feedback would be appreciated.
Linux sampler like pcmsynth or Beatbox?
Ok I'm also a linux user, I'll try searching, but I don't remember a lot of sampler plug ins as good as Caustic's Beabtox or PCMsynth... But I do know there is something similar, wait a bit, I'll turn on Ardour and see if I can find it, as for general try the Kxstudio repositories, they have amazing plug ins ^^ (Also you should get ZynFusion, or ZynAddsubFx highly reccomend those two).
Ok Fabla, is similar, there is also Drumkv1. Hope these help ^^
you can find them here, also I suggest the calf studio gear. And a youtuber called "Unfa" (he made a video about a lot of Linux music plug ins and its highly helpful), you'll learn everything you need about Linux music production.

I’ve had Causic playing very nicely with Linux using WINE.
Well yeah, Caustic works great on WINE, but using it in a DAW, like Ardour or LMMS is another issue, would be happy if that was possible somehow with Carla.
