We need some sort of track smapling synth

The title isn't very apt, so I'll elaborate.

I've been wanting to do mashups for a while. I technically have all the tools with caustic. All but one: having samples longer than 8 bars. It gets SO tedious chopping up songs and hoping they connect right. My idea is some "synth," similar to the PCMSynth, but instead of showing notes on the timeline, it shows the audio track it's sampling. We can already change key and stretch/squeeze songs effectively, so we don't need anything else. It wouldn't need to be much, just a *long* audio input track with a button for instant access to the WAV editor.

Any other ideas/add-ons?

you can use the Vocoder to

you can use the Vocoder to trigger samples up to 1 minute. Trigger the samples in song mode to get rid of the 8 bar limitation... Also, turn off the Vocoder effect so they play as normal audio..

By the way, when loading

By the way, when loading stereo audio through a vocoder, the signal is converted to mono, as well as artifacts appear in the sound. Do you know how to fix this?

The vocoder's monophonic. No

The vocoder's monophonic. No point in running a stereo sample through it

well, then just use 2 Vocoders.. One for each mono channel and pan them hard left and right....

There's been talk for many

There's been talk for many years of an audiotrack machine.

The problem historically was streaming audio from "disk" to memory. No idea if this is still an issue.

Furthermore there's not been a whole lot of caustic development for the past couple of years.

Why use two vocoders when

Why use two vocoders when  you can use a stereo sample in the PCM Synth? I believe there's 22 seconds per sample and 82 slots available. So you can just time them accordingly in the piano roll.
