(SOLVED) Can someone help with corrupted caustic file?

Today. as I was working on this track when it approached bar 43 on the song roll, Caustic crashed (windows version, same file - same problem on Android). I read about other people having issues with corrupted files, some helped with edting in hex editors (I looked around the file, I just can't make any sense of what's going on). I'd appreciate it if someone can help with recovering this track. It's almost complete and even though I saved older versions, I don't think I can come up with a similar result by using an older version. The file is large, a little more than 80mb, so I am hosting it in my Dropbox in case someone is interested in helping out. Thanks in advance! Here's the link to that folder, you can download and upload as well:

Fixed! Since I was able to

Fixed! Since I was able to open the file, I started troubleshooting by the process of elimination. I started deleting machine slots until I was able to find out which one caused the problem. To be more specific, one of the patterns on a modular slot had a strange number assigned, something like s3s, apparently not a valid pattern number. I deleted it, repainted the proper one and the track passed through the crashing point on the 43rd bar with no problems. So, in case you experience a similar issue, this might help you recover your file  if you come across a situation like mine. I will post the track in a few days, a rather complex and "fR3neTiK" one, a term a fellow musician used for another track I made in the past laugh

Since you've solved the

Since you've solved the problem, I recommend adding the word "solved" to the discussion title. So people know that you no longer need help on this issue.

Glad the old troubleshooting

Glad the old troubleshooting procedures could help solve your problem.  Looking forward to hearing the song.

Thanks for pointing that out, done!

@JHSound

Yes, that was a relief. I guess you have to try and think in creative ways when it comes to troubleshooting too! sad

Good news!

Good news!

On a side note, the hex editor fix you may be referring to (https://singlecellsoftware.com/node/16779) was necessary as most corrupted Caustic files will cause the app to crash if you attempt to load the file. I've encountered this several times but always had backups.

Your circumstance is a bit unique in that you were able to load the *.caustic file and it crashed at a certain time during playback.

I mention this only because the general issue is not "solved" - the referenced problem of corrupted files crashing Caustic when attempting to load them, although I'm happy you were able to salvage your song.
