You create great dynamics without the listener being aware you are doing it. Great use of filters and volume, and bringing in new insrument voices at the right times.
Very nice - would have fitted in well on the Rising High Records 'Secret Life Of Trance' series in the 90's.
I'm not too keen on that ride though - too plinky, something softer would be more sympathetic. In contrast I love the section at 2:30 onwards - that synth is superb. Do you fancy either sharing the file or uploading the presets?
Thank you JHS. I do pay attention to the dynamics of things. Hey. That's what, fully, automated mixers are for :)
James. Here's the synth that comes in, around, 2.30. It's the easiest to explain, to be honest. Two for the price of one. It's a velocity switch between two, simple, synths. Though, you can use it to switch between two anything you like. Filters, FM modulators, EGs, whatever.
What ride? I don't remember putting a ride in it. Could you be, more, time specific?
It's the open hi hat that kicks in around 1:00 (that sounds like a synthesised ride).
That said, I've just listened to it again and don't find it anywhere near as offputting but when it's exposed (like 2:30) it does sound a little jarring.

Ah. The hat. It is synthesized.I wouldn't have it any, other, way. Maybe, it's, a bit, too dry.
