Having a synth cutoff another synth

Forgive me if it's been asked before, but my search yielded nothing relevant.  I "simply" want to have one PCM cutoff another.  Brief background, I'm working with samples.  The sample plays beyond the bar, and I need it to end at the end of that bar.  Otherwise it's playing over another sample where it shouldn't.  So, either one PCM can cutoff the other, or maybe there's a way to cut the first short by the bar, instead of it playing through into the next measure.

Any thoughts?  Thank you!!

Sample playback mode "Note on

Sample playback mode "Note on/off"; then you can specify by the note length how long the sample is played.

That is the easiest way.

That is the easiest way. Could also use the wave editor to trim the file down to a whatever length and even make a nice fade out so it does not pop at the sudden end.

Lets add another solution.

Lets add another solution. Automate the volume on the pcm synth or the mixer for that channel to fall to 0 when you want the sample to end.

@invalid that is exactly what

@invalid that is exactly what the release on the valume envelope do, it will fade out automatically as long that you understand the fade out time of each position of the release and length of the notes plus the tempo, its all mathematics, anyways the volume envelope its the most important tool in caustic, thats why you would never hear my bass overlapping and clipping, because i understand everything about the volume envelope and you also need to understand it too because once you do, everything will makes sense!!!!
