Question about note length on the bassline machine

Hello,
First of all, I love Caustic!
I have a question about the bassline machine:
Is it possible to enter a note length greater than a 16th note?
I'm completely new to electronic music making and I gather the machine is based on a Roland 303 - just wondered if it was possible, or is this just "the way it is done" in electronic music?
I've tried fiddling with the knobs to see if I can make the notes sustain for the length of an eighth or quarter note but no joy.

Cheers,

Ed

Hi Ed,

Hi Ed,

The Bassline machine really has not concept of note length. How this machine works is by the slide.

If you put say 4 notes together in a measure and mark all of them Slide (usually don't mark the first note in a slide to get it going), you will actually connect the notes together. You can then try and accenting some of the notes up or down in the slide area and you will start to get the typical 303 whine.

But with your question, there is no idea of "gate time" for the Bassline machine in Caustic 2.
